About Me

Szabina is known for her unique presence and glow on stage, her dynamic vocal range and her magical ability to entice and seduce audiences time and time again. The beauty of her voice and diversity of her style is matched by her clear delivery – whether in German, French, Italian, Hungarian, English, Russian, Czech or Swedish; as well as her heartfelt presence and contagious sense of humour!

Szabina comes from Budapest, Hungary. She began her singing studies at the Varga Tibor Music Institute under the tutelage of Prof. Judit Nemeth in 2002, where she received her singing teacher diploma four years later. In 2006 she continued her studies at the University of Art and Music Zurich (ZhdK) under the mentorship of Prof. Laszlo Polgar. In 2009 she received her concert diploma with a special award.

Between 2010-2012 she got her second master diploma at the Swiss Opera Studio in Biel under the mentorship of Prof. Barbara Locher. In her final exam production, she sang the leading role of ‘Mrs. Ford’ in Salieri’s Falstaff.

She won 1st prize at the International Song Contest in Schlossoper Haldenstein in Chur (2011), was a semi finalist at the Hans Gabor Bellvedere in Vienna (2009) and is a scholarship holder of the Universitas Kultur Scholarship (2005).

During her studies at the ZhdK, she sang in opera performances such as Une Education Manquée (‘Hélene’) from E. Chabrier (2009), The Turn of the Screw (‘Governess’) from B. Britten (2007) and performed at Zurich Tonhalle with Karol Szymanowky’s song cycle The Love Songs of Hafiz in the same year. In 2009 she sang Mozart and Haydn concert arias with the Zurich Orchestra Society.

Several major performances followed, including Beffa and Laurent Festas’ K et la piste du Chateau, Verdi’s masterpiece La Traviata as Violetta under the direction of Sebastian Tewinkel, Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Poulenc’s Gloria and Gounod’s Messe de Saint Cécile with the Radio Symphonic Orchestra Pilsen in the Tonhalle in Zurich; and the role of Rosalinda in Strauss’s Die Fledermaus with the Konkordia Orchestra.

In 2014 Szabina became a mom and decided to take a well-deserved break from singing. Since 2015 she has sung for various Pop and Rock projects and in many different operas and operettas; In 2018 Szabina performed the lead role (Josepha) in Benatzky’s The White Horse Inn twenty-four times. She appeared in numerous other oratories until the summer, at which point she spent an entire year performing as the Countess in Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro to a stunned and bewitched Hungarian audience.

Pop, rock, jazz Singing Lessons and Vocal Coaching
Have you always dreamed: of singing with freedom and resonance, with ease and flexibility? of belting out your favourite rock ballad and spellbinding the crowd? of having a huge range and expressive power that makes people’s jaws drop? I can help you free your voice and find your true sound through my holistic teaching approach. I will help you get back in touch with your breath and the freedom you once felt in your voice as a child. I will help with any relaxation, placement, strain issues you may have and extend your range and give you resonance and power. If you have any health issues that may affect your voice I can give you advice and guidance, special exercises , yoga routines etc - having suffered myself from GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease) and a resulting small vocal node in the past, and having dealt with various health issues - despite which I have managed to still work as a singer! I can teach you to: - Improvise and write songs. - Develop your expression. - Develop your technique without losing your own unique sound. - Extend your range to at least 3 octaves (sometimes even 4!) - Breath control and control of your entire range. - Sing in a variety of techniques and styles- become a versatile singer! - Basic guitar/keyboard skills if requested. - Music Theory lessons upon request. I have an acute ear for detail and upon our first session and hearing you we will be able to discuss your voice and how to move forward.

Cheslava
Piano and Singing tutor with 5 years experience and professional education
From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.

Ziad
Oriental Arabic Oud and Singing Teacher in Germany
Experienced Oud & Oriental singing teacher for over 8 years, Lebanese, currently residing in Mönchengladbach. I studied for 8 years at the Lebanese National Conservatory. I was a teacher at Casa Beethoven Academy in Lebanon and also offered private lessons. Additionally, I served as a concertmaster in the oriental orchestra "Loubnan Assalam" for more than 5 years. My reason for relocating to Germany is to complete my studies at the University of Kamp Lintfort. I am fluent in English, Couramment en français, ولغتي الأم هي اللغة العربية. Unfortunately, I speak only a little German (Aber leider spreche ich ein bisschen Deutsch). My recommendation for learning the Oud is to begin by studying musical notes and notation before delving into songs. While some students prefer to jump straight into playing songs, understanding the fundamentals of music notation accelerates progress in the long run. Dedication and hard work can yield significant progress within a year, enabling you to play simple tunes. However, if you lack a passion for music or the instrument itself, I advise against pursuing it. As a friendly and passionate teacher, I derive joy from witnessing my students' progress and enjoy playing duets with them. While in-person meetings are preferable, I also offer online lessons for those unable to meet in person. Feel free to leave me a message, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Charlotte
Private singing lessons - all styles and levels
Hello and welcome ! My name is Charlotte, I am a singing teacher and professional opera singer. I graduated from the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris at the highest level with honours and I have a Masters in Opera Singing from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London, where I have won several prizes. I am the recipient of a prestigious scholarship from the Malvina and Denise Menda Foundation of the Fondation de France. I also have a BA in Art History from the University of Cambridge and an MA in Art History from the Courtauld Institute. I teach the principles of vocal technique that form the basis of all singing styles: finding an ideal posture and alignment of the body and the air column and eliminating unnecessary tension; optimizing breathing and support (singing with the whole body); beauty and homogeneity of the voice in all registers (homogeneity especially in lyrical singing); clear and precise articulation in all languages. Of course, these bases adapt differently depending on the styles and offer keys to freeing the voice, and not to restricting the singer! My teaching is holistic and I take into account the whole person with great sensitivity. The voice is at the center of the body and mind, and singing unifies the two. I deeply believe in the well-being that singing brings and its power to release. My life as an artist began as a classical dancer (I was a dancer in the young dancers program at the Royal Opera House, London) and this taught me a good awareness of my body and how to transmit it to others. Singing is mastered by listening to one's body. I also practice meditation and yoga at a high level and I transmit these techniques of connection to the body and breath, and the state of relaxation that they bring. In my teaching, accuracy, solfege and precision are very important. I was first a violinist and I was a member of one of the prestigious choirs of the University of Cambridge during my degree. So I have a good ear that developed further during these trainings. Singing is above all communication and my mission is to allow everyone to express their authentic and unique voice. I am passionate about theater and the art of communicating our sincere emotions and those of the characters we play. Vocal technique gives us the means, but it is the connection to oneself and to the meaning of the music and the text that allows us to express ourselves fully and sincerely. It is a work that fascinates me as much as that of vocal technique. All the more so, the connection to emotion broadens the palette of colors of the voice, without which we can only produce beautiful sound. My classes usually last an hour. Typically, I start my classes with breathing exercises and body observation. We continue with warm-ups and vocalizations to work on technique. Then we work on the repertoire of your choice. I can also advise you on the repertoire of all styles. Looking forward to reading from you and working together!
