Trusted teacher: I am an Italian native speaker and I am fluent in English, having lived a decade in a few different places in the UK. Furthermore I speak Spanish to a beginner-to-intermediate level. I’ve got two passions in life: music and cultures and they both relate to languages. Music is known to be a universal language and different cultures connect with, and influence each other, through the use of spoken language. My formal education lays in music, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, and a five-year diploma as a Jazz bass player from the Civica Scuola di Musica Claudio Abbado in Milan. I’ve been teaching music for fifteen years and during the last one I've decided to expand over to languages, by taking up the challenge to combine my passion for teaching with the love for languages. I’ve developed the latter during my many years abroad, where I shared my everyday life with people from all over te world. My method is essentially based on grammar and conversation, alternating the two based on the student’s level of fluency. Once the basics are mastered I focus on conversation, especially providing thorough explanation about typical words and expressions and their various acceptations within different contexts. At times I may also add the odd etymology side note when relevant. I also like to use readings upon subjects that are of the student’s interest, as this aids in nurturing their motivation. Given the transformative and fluid nature of speech, my aim is to deliver an organic learning experience, able to be put to fruition from the start and in everyday life, but that also won’t fail to address the differences between formal and informal interactions. Hence, avoiding inhibit a swift communication in favour of grammatical accuracy. A second level of my teaching focuses on expanding the student's writing skills and this is aimed to individuals who may have achieved a solid grasp of the basis and a wider knowledge on vocabulary. This is because writing is an art on its own and its objective is to convey one's true thoughts and feelings, therefore it requires a dedicated effort. I can teach in English, Italian and Spanish and lessons can be either in person at your place or mine, or via Zoom. Get in touch for more information!

During my career in the US I was constantly writing essays for my classes, in addition to having to present projects in front of my teachers and classmates. At the same time, I was working at university and after graduating I worked for a year, mainly having long conversations on the phone with people from all over the country. Nowadays the ability to communicate in English is essential and I will prepare you so that you can meet your objectives. It could be studying abroad, going to live in an English-speaking country, improving communication in the professional field or practicing so as not to lose the level previously acquired. If what you are looking for is to improve your knowledge of the English language, I am going to help you. My methodology is simple. Each person is different and I adapt the content of my classes to the needs and interests of my students. We all learn in different ways and at different times, that is why I design my classes individually.

Pietro is an excellent professional Bass Guitar teacher with extensive theory and practical musical knowledge. He makes you feel comfortable and confident in his company.
