(Molecular)Biology for both beginners and advanced students

As a master graduate in Biomolecular Sciences I have spent the better part of a decade studying and working with microorganisms of various types, studying everything from general cell biology to biophysics and bioinformatics.
In my classes I will walk you through these subjects and more, whether you need some help with your elementary school biology classes or would like some guidance as you study for your own master's degree. With a wide array of both practical and theoretical experience I'll make sure the study material is tailored to your own learning style, to keep you from being overwhelmed.

My range of experience in biology is wide, and extends to coding languages like R and Python as well.

About Me

Cheery and extroverted, I am a social and patient person.
Growing up as the oldest of many siblings, helping them do their homework and study always brought me joy. This passion for teaching is something that only intensified as the subject matter became more complex.
Beyond studying and teaching I also enjoy Dungeons and Dragons, playing the guitar, and reading fantasy and Sci-fi novels.

Education

Master in Biomolecular Sciences, Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.
Pre-Master in Biology, Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.
Bachelor in Biotechnology, Hogeschool Van Hall Larenstein Leeuwarden.

Experience / Qualifications

Teaching experience:
- Acted as a teaching assistant at the University of Groningen, teaching a lab safety course to 32 1st year biotechnology bachelor's students. I taught about the correct maintenance of a lab-journal, safe microbial techniques, and other basic laboratory techniques. I also supervised 3 teams for a bacterial isolation project.

- Acted as a teaching assistant at the University of Groningen, teaching the Advanced Genetic Engineering course to 5 master students. I taught these students how to design and build a genetic circuit using various bioinformatical and molecular biological techniques.

Lab-work experience:
- Worked with Prof. P. Horvatovich at the University Medical Center Groningen to develop a program using the coding language R to perform various high-throughput statistical analyses of mass spectrometry data.

- Functioned as the lab manager and primary genetic engineer for the 2022 Groningen team for iGEM (International genetically engineered machine) competition. I designed 90 modular DNA components to build 47 unique plasmid constructs, lead a lab over 8 months, and eventually won a gold medal out of 100+ international teams.

- Worked with Prof. O. Kuipers at the University of Groningen, engineering the antimicrobial lanthipeptide nisin to expand library variability. I incorporated non-canonical amino-acids and additional functional domains into the peptide.

- At the Wetsus Institute in Leeuwarden I worked with Dr. A. Karengera to analyze the dose-response effects on the transcripts of DNA damage response genes in Caenorhabditis elegans treated with genotoxic compounds.

- Worked with Prof. A. Driessen at the University of Groningen to restore the expression of potentially antimicrobial compound producing polyketide synthase genes in Penicillium chrysogenum. I designed and built various CRISPR-Cas9 constructs to perform single-site mutagenesis.

- Worked with Prof. A. Herrmann at the University of Groningen to express and purify supercharged elastin-like proteins for the development of rhodopsin-targeting nano-capsules for drug delivery.

give courses in languages and applied biochemistry
My name is Younes and I give language lessons, for me teaching means learning twice so my learning method is based on simplicity and above all you have to move forward according to the student's rhythm to allow him to learn. improve and acquire new bases and be able to assimilate new information without ever becoming saturated. Sometimes it's better to go slowly but surely. In addition, I am a young researcher in applied biochemistry and a temporary teacher at the university for 4 years, so for those who have difficulties and gaps in biochemistry, I will be there to simplify you and above all to make you discover the world. wonder of biochemistry and thank you for stopping by.

Biochemistry and chemistry for medicine, nutrition and other health sciences
Do you feel like you are drowning in a sea of Biochemistry information? Maria, a medical student, felt that way. Every biochemistry class was a whirlwind of concepts: enzyme names, metabolic pathways, and those enzyme kinetics graphs that seemed impossible to decipher. "There's so much stuff! How is all this supposed to make sense?" he kept asking himself as he tried to connect the dots between glycolysis and the Krebs cycle. But everything changed when she found a tutoring class in medical biochemistry. In these sessions, we visualized each process step by step. Suddenly, those enzyme kinetics graphs that had previously seemed like hieroglyphics became clear, and the relationships between topics like glycolysis and the electron transport chain began to make sense. Today, Maria not only understands the topics, but also remembers the names and steps of each biochemical process with ease. And you can do it too. Virtual, personalized classes designed to help you master the most complex concepts of medical biochemistry. 📚 Ready to transform your understanding of biochemistry? Reserve your spot today.

Mohamed
Chemistry Class for Secondary School Grade Student
Chemistry is the study of matter—its characteristics, behavior and structure. Chemists are interested in the way materials act and react in certain situations, so they produce and observe these reactions, both in nature and artificially in a lab setting. Chemistry is the study of substances—that is, elements and compounds—while biology is the study of living things. However, these two branches of science meet in the discipline of biochemistry, which studies the substances in living things and how they change within an organism.

cell biology and biochemistry for college students - cell biology for college students
In this module I explain the basics of the human cell at the level that must be mastered in a college. Because the exams differ per college and direction, I strongly recommend that you send me the curriculum (or specific subject of the lesson) in advance so that I can tailor the lesson to your needs. --- In this module we will go over the fundamentals of the human cell based on a college level. Because the curriculum differs depending on where you are from, I strongly recommend sending me a syllabus if you have any so I can apply myself as well as possible to your needs as a student.

Talha
Tutoring for both boards of Cambridge and edexcel. IGCSE / GCSE/IB/AS BIOLOGY
Biology is particularly a challenging subject because it requires you to first understand the enormous number of concepts and then memories it simultaneously. I'll teach biology through the slides I have prepared (ig/GCSE only) which are made from multiple resource, such as marking scheme, the book and examiner reports, this is beneficial as while I teach the concept it will come to the student the exact way the examiner wants the student to answer, and ofcource while learning the slides he will be Able to directly do the past papers as the notes are mastercopy of the source itself. Moreover, I'll make sure that each topic is fully understood by the student so there will be no room for error.
