I am a tutor with 7+ years of experience teaching at a variety of levels from primary school to GCSE level. I teach English Language, English Literature, ESOL (English for speakers of other languages), Maths, and Creative Writing. I have a special passion for creative writing, which I specifically studied in my joint honours degree (BA English with Creative Writing), and specialise in producing stories, written poetry, and spoken word poetry which I have previously performed at events. I have run creative writing workshops for children at previous educational centres and love to make writing enjoyable, engaging and exciting for all of my students at all levels. I believe the most successful results come from fostering a friendship with my students, and providing constant encouragement and support in their areas of interest. I pride am an attentive listener and I carefully plan my lessons according to the specific needs of my students, which is particularly helpful for my SEN, ESOL, and younger pupils. At the beginning of every lesson I also do short icebreaker activities and challenges with my students, using a points reward system to keep them engaged. Previous students have gone on to become the top of their class and receive recognition at school for both English and Maths. Lessons start at 1 hour in length, with longer lessons available if required. Lessons are structured according to the needs of the student; this can be working alongside their class syllabus to support them with progress at school, tackling an area or subject they want to excel at, and helping them prepare for national exams such as GCSEs. I provide feedback after every lesson and detailed progress reports every six months for each student. I primarily offer online lessons as I have found this works well for me and my students, but in some cases I do teach face-to-face depending on location and availability within London. I also emphasizes the importance of spelling, so we often have spelling quizzes to keep us sharp. Creative writing is a big part of our lessons too; we get to write stories, poems, and even scripts, which is really fun and helps us express our ideas in unique ways. The class is a mix of reading, spelling, and creative writing, making it engaging and diverse.

You will learn how to turn your ideas into screenplays with engaging and challenging storylines to engage an audience in TV and Film, using Industry standards. We will then look at how to write a Pitch Deck to send to Executive Producers and Commissioners. We will then look at how you cast, what crew will you need, do location reccies, costume and art design, which will lead to how to produce a Production Schedule, which is essential for everyone involved. You will learn about creating a shot list for your shoot, which includes camera angles, framing, lighting, lenses and additional equipment necessary. Once you have everybody and everything you need for your particular project, you will go out filming. You will then learn how to use Editing software, and how to make choices that are interesting and exciting.

English Writing for Beginners is designed for those who want to build a strong foundation in English writing. Whether you're new to English or looking to improve your writing skills, this class will guide you through the basics in a supportive and engaging environment. You'll learn essential grammar, sentence structure, and vocabulary-building techniques. Through practical exercises and personalized feedback, you'll gain confidence in writing clear and effective sentences, paragraphs, and short texts that convey your thoughts accurately and creatively.

The history of Italian cinema is rich, vibrant and full of surprises. In this class, we will undertake a unique journey from its origins, with the establishment of Italian Silent Film and the so-called Golden Era, throughout the many developments and discoveries of the twentieth century, and all the way to what is Italian Cinema today. We will discuss and analyse films that played a remarkable role in shaping modern cinema: from the school of Neorealism to the auteur tradition of film directors such as Fellini, Antonioni, Visconti, Bertolucci, and many more. We will learn the language of cinema and discover a new way to unlock the meaning and artistry of filmmaking. About this course, this is a one-of-a-kind class accessible to everyone and that combines materials taught at university level with the flexibility and fun of one-on-one bespoke courses.

I also prioritize practical application, encouraging students to write short pieces during class, which we review together. This allows them to immediately apply what they’ve learned and improve through practice. By the end of the class, my goal is for students to leave feeling more confident in their communication skills and inspired to continue refining their writing abilities.
