I am a professional guitarist with over 20 years of experience in playing live and as a session musician. In addition, I have been teaching guitar, piano and music technology for over 10 years in schools and colleges. My guitar teaching method (Acoustic and Electric) includes rhythm and lead guitar, technique, music theory, notation – as well as preparing students for Trinity & ABRSM grades (all pass with a “Merit”!). All ages and levels are welcome. Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. For some people there is only one way to tackle the unmentionable but I believe there are many different approaches and one of them will click with you. It is simply finding out what is best for each person. Once we find the key we can unlock the problems that have puzzled you for ages. Music theory needs to be more than a requirement, it needs to be the way to really appreciate the music you are playing.
