Additionally, I try to approach the topic from different angles, with lots of real life examples. This way you also get an idea of the use of what you are learning, to give it a sense of purpose. My experience: As an active Civil Engineer, not only do I have profound knowledge of mathematics and physics, but I also have a good understanding of their use in practice. This can be a big advantage for students who don't understand why they need to be learning "all of this crap". Additionally, I have been giving courses regularly since starting university, and have years of experience teaching badminton to youth players once a week.
