Trusted teacher: Are you having difficulties analysing texts, poems and prose in your IGCSE English, IB English Literature or IB LangLit course? Are you ready to commit an hour every week over the summer to get that 6 or 7 and get into the university of your dreams? Then this is the course for you! From helping you master the general techniques of literary analysis and teaching you how to compare literary works to answer exam questions on character development, theme and techniques, my course will provide you with all the tools and knowledge you need to dazzle even the most demanding IB examiner. The combination of my passion for writing prose and poetry and my deep understanding of IB marking criteria thanks to great teachers and thoughtful research means that I am uniquely placed to not only explain what your answers were lacking, but also show you how thinking like a writer can help you dramatically improve your answers. Following a thorough discussion of your individual needs in our first class, I will create for you an engaging but exam-focused programme drawing on my 3-year experience as a tutor and using interactive teaching platforms. Through my course, you will get access to a vast library of resources (at no extra cost) - from official IB textbooks and past papers to teacher guidance - to help you perfect both your analytical and essay-writing skills. And if English is your second language, I will show you what to focus on in your learning so that you could write better than Shakespeare! Are you ready to turn the page on disappointing grades in the past? Then contact me today!

I am a tutor with 7+ years of experience teaching at a variety of levels from primary school to GCSE level. I teach English Language, English Literature, ESOL (English for speakers of other languages), Maths, and Creative Writing. I have taught students both in person and remotely, planning lessons using virtual presentations, activities and resources both in the UK and abroad. I believe the most successful results come from fostering a friendship with my students, and providing constant encouragement and support in their areas of interest. I pride myself on being an attentive listener and carefully adapt to the specific needs of my students, which is particularly helpful for my SEN and ESOL pupils. I have previously volunteered as a mentor with charities such as Al Muntaha Tutoring and Debate Mate, providing mentorship, relevant advice, and support to young people. At the beginning of every lesson I also do short icebreaker activities and challenges with my students, using a points reward system to keep them engaged. Previous students have gone on to become the top of their class and receive recognition at school for both English and Maths. Lessons start at 1 hour in length, with longer lessons available if required. Lessons are structured according to the needs of the student; this can be working alongside their class syllabus to support them with progress at school, tackling an area or subject they are specifically struggling with, or helping them prepare for national exams such as GCSEs. I provide feedback after every lesson and detailed progress reports every six months for each student. I primarily offer online lessons as I have found this works well for me and my students, but in some cases I do teach face-to-face depending on location and availability within London. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have - I look forward to speaking with you soon!

Trusted teacher: Hello! I'm Hafsa, a passionate educator from East London. With a strong background in teaching primary school children, I specialize in helping young learners grasp the fundamentals of English, including nouns, adjectives, verbs, and sentence construction. My love for language and teaching is evident in my enthusiastic approach to making learning both fun and engaging. I believe that every student has the potential to excel, and my goal is to inspire a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. I have a rich experience in tutoring primary school students, with a particular focus on English language fundamentals. In my previous role as a tutor, I guided students through the intricacies of grammar and vocabulary. My approach involves interactive lessons that encourage students to explore the meanings of words and how they can be used effectively in sentences. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing themselves. This not only helps in their academic performance but also builds their confidence in using language. I believe in a student-centered teaching philosophy, where understanding each child's unique learning style is key. I use a variety of teaching methods, including games, storytelling, and practical exercises, to keep lessons dynamic and interesting. My goal is to make each session enjoyable and educational, leaving a lasting impression that motivates students to continue learning. Parents can trust that I am not only knowledgeable but also approachable and patient. I prioritize clear communication and regular updates on progress, ensuring that both students and parents are comfortable and satisfied with the learning process. I specialize in teaching children aged 5-11, focusing on foundational English skills. My classes are designed to help students: Understand Basic Grammar: Identifying and using nouns, adjectives, and verbs correctly. Sentence Construction: Crafting well-formed sentences for both written and spoken communication. Vocabulary Building: Expanding their lexicon and understanding word meanings in various contexts. I have a thorough understanding of the primary school syllabus and am familiar with common examination formats. My experience includes preparing students for standardised tests and assessments, such as the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in the UK. I use materials and practice tests from reputable sources, ensuring students are well-prepared and confident when facing their exams. To get started, I offer a friendly introductory session where we can discuss your child's specific needs and goals. Whether your child needs help catching up, staying on track, or getting ahead, I'm here to provide the support they need. Let's work together to unlock your child's full potential!

Improve your FRENCH! Améliorer votre Français: prononciation, diction, construction de phrases (FLE) (London)
Val
We had our very first lesson with Valentin yesterday and I have decided to continue developing my skills in French language together with him due to various reasons... First of all Valentin has all the required communication skills which makes him a desirable teacher together with his kind and friendly approach. Moreover from the very first session he started to build a structure on which we can work on together. He also seems to be a good observer who can detect and correct the mistakes I make as well as providing me the right knowledge in order to improve my French as we proceed together. I would recommend Valentin if you need assistance with learning French at any level.

Excellent responsible teacher who knows what he does and knows what he teaches. And now, after few lessons, I can witness the difference. My daughter has just got much better results in her written essays at school, and has just received her English teacher's congratulations. So, a thousand thanks for your help and patience!
