Have you always wanted to learn the flute but never knew where to start? Are you a student confused by your school lessons and wanting a little bit of practice outside of class? My name is Sachi, I'm an American-trained flautist, and I'd like to make learning an instrument accessible, fun, and easy for musicians of all ages and abilities. I am a 3rd year student at the University of Bath, but I first picked up music when I was 12. Growing up in America, I had the opportunity to participate in marching band, concert bands, wind ensembles, and orchestras. However, it was only when I began taking private lessons that I realized how incredible and transformative music can be. My lessons instilled a sense of discipline, confidence, and love for the arts that I would now like to share with you. This course begins with the basics, but can be adjusted for whatever level you are at! Items on the course include: - Flute set up: hand position and stability - Beginner's guide to reading music - Sight-reading - Tone and the 'sweet spot' - Breathing - From Classical to Baroque to Modern and everything in between! - Flute music from around the world - Extended techniques (singing and playing, harmonics) - ABRSM prep If you have any questions feel free to get in touch. I booked a daily 90 minutes class for my son Nicolo' (16 years old) for 2 weeks. He was an absolute beginner and usually has a very limited enthusiasm for "extra-classes". Lucia was absolutely fantastic. She made the magic of creating a learning environment that was fun, friendly and effective at the same time. My son Nicolo' was so enthusiastic about the classed to the point that I could not believe it when he asked me to do more classes with Lucia after the 2 weeks. Lucia was good to teach with real life situation and not in an academic way. She was very good in explaining difficult concept in an easy way. Lucia is a very competent teacher and a trusted professional. I would recommend her to anyone.

Who truly knows how to tailor a programme to each individual student. In 3 weeks, I've grown from knowing close to no grammar to being able to form proper sentences for everyday use. One aspect I value a lot about her way of teaching is that we apply the grammar not only to every-day situations but also to topics that tailor to my personal life circumstances. I have been convinced that, with the help of Marina, I will be able to grow my Mandarin skills exponentially over the next few months.

It is always a pleasure to meet Phil for our weekly online French classes. He is a patient and kind teacher and always full of energy for our class. Phil is interested in a wide range of topics, so we always have something to talk about based on an article he selected as 'homework'. What I really appreciate about his way of teaching is that he corrects me during our conversation without breaking the flow of our talk, so I can really feel my confidence in speaking French increasing each class. I woulf highly recommend Phil if you are looking for a French tutor :)
