Trusted teacher: If you’re looking for a tutor to help you to learn a new skill/ rediscover playing the violin, or to help students to stay on track while we’re all at home, do get in touch! If you feel good, you play better! I like to approach each student individually, because we are all physically and mentally built differently. We all should leave a violin lesson feeling great! My teachers Mr. Ngai Ho Chau and Mr. Jeffrey Sit Pak Hong, have been my greatest influence when it comes to teaching. I like to approach each student individually, because we are all physically and mentally built differently. Most importantly, we all should leave a violin lesson feeling great! I have a 100% pass rate and my current sudents achieve a merit and distinction in the ABRSM performance grades1-8! A little about me: Born and raised in Hong Kong, my musical journey began at the age of five when I first picked up the violin. With the support of dedicated instructors, I built a strong foundation in technical precision and musical sensitivity, setting the stage for my future achievements. At the age of eight, I had the privilege of studying under Mr. Ngai Ho-Chau, the former concertmaster of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. His mentorship not only refined my skills but also instilled in me a profound appreciation for musical expression and the value of diligent practice. Driven by a desire to reach new heights, I earned my LTCL Diploma with Distinction from Trinity London College at eighteen, a milestone reflecting countless hours of dedication. This achievement motivated me to further deepen my understanding of the instrument. Seeking new perspectives, I pursued advanced studies under the renowned violin maestro Mr. Hwang Wei-Ming at Taiwan SooChow University. There, I immersed myself in the art of violin technique, interpretation, and performance, gaining invaluable experience collaborating with talented musicians. Over the years, I received scholarships to study violin at Taiwan SooChow University and California Baptist University. These opportunities enriched my musical experiences and allowed me to perform in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings. My journey includes performances with ensembles such as the Hong Kong Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, Hong Kong Pro-Arte Orchestra, Taiwan SooChow University Orchestra, and Taiwan Rong-Shing Chamber Orchestra, among others. These experiences continue to inform my approach to teaching, allowing me to provide my students with practical insights and real-world performance techniques. Previously, I taught GCSE Music at Hollingworth Academy and provided violin instruction at The Hathershaw College and Radclyffe School, where I developed a holistic and student-centered teaching approach tailored to each learner's unique needs and goals. Currently, I am dedicated to teaching SEND students at The Peak School, where I strive to create a supportive and calming environment. I often incorporate live violin performances to help my students relax and connect with music on a deeper level. Additionally, I work with private violin students, including young musicians from Manchester High School for Girls and Withington Girls’ School, as well as those preparing for music scholarship auditions at prestigious institutions like London Westminster School. Recently, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Manchester-based artist Emma for her exhibition, Monton in Bloom. This opportunity allowed me to share my music in a creative and inspiring setting. https://montonmatters.co.uk/?s=monton+in+bloom For a glimpse into my most recent performance, you can find me on Instagram at THANKYOUVIOLIN.

This class is for students of any age who wish to learn the transverse flute. Learning an instrument takes time and commitment, but it's hugely rewarding - and it doesn't have to be boring! I have experience teaching students of all age and levels and I specialise in tailoring my teaching to meet the individual needs of each student. Beginner flute lessons are suitable for students learning from scratch or those already playing up to about ABRSM Grade 2 level. In beginner flute lessons, you will learn the fundamentals of making a sound and play your first notes, as well as the basics of reading music. As lessons progress, you will learn your first short pieces and maybe even prepare for graded exams. Intermediate lessons are suitable for students already playing at about ABRSM Grade 3 to Grade 5 levels. In these lessons, you will build on what you already know to expand your abilities on the flute. You will learn more about different musical styles and techniques and develop more confidence to express yourself through music. Advanced lessons are for students already playing at about ABRSM Grade 6 and beyond. Depending on each student, lessons could involve growing more skills to take the advanced grade or diploma exams exams through to learning the skills to put together a recital programme or prepare for a music college audition. There is wide scope in these lessons to focus on your areas of interest, while still keeping an eye on the solid foundations of good flute technique and musicianship.

Trusted teacher: Over 16+ years now, my students have been passing their English/ESL exams and have been able to tremendously improve their English skills to the point where they are able to now speak like Western native speakers! Essay writing is a huge area of focus in my classes as well! Not only do I and my team work with exam instructors to get the most up-to-date exam requirements, but also provide to the student the most focused strategies that are EASY TO UNDERSTAND, FAST TO LEARN AND FOCUSED ON A PROFESSIONAL ENGLISH CURRICULUM. I myself have scored 8.5 in IELTS and have helped my students achieve maximum scores as well: IELTS: 9 band (over a hundred cases) TOEFL: 120 points (56 cases) SAT: Full marks (45 cases) CELPIP: 12/12 (over 300 cases!) This excludes the thousands of other students who have been able to secure university entries or who have qualified for top-notch jobs thanks to their newly-learnt English skills. Likewise, these successes are the reasons why I love my job and continue teaching. Every day, I work hard towards achieving student results. The very moment they pass and thank me is something I live for day and night! With my TEFL certification, years of experience, work with examiners, professional training for English teaching skills, background of working with students from all backgrounds, and most importantly DOCUMENTED TRACK RECORD OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES, I am sure that your requirements for your next learning venture will be guaranteed and pleasing!

Raef
Superb experience with Raef. I asked for his help to prepare a math assessment test with an enormous lack of basis but he accepted the challenge. I found out a nice teacher who is not afraid of explaining and repeating if necessary. I did enjoy his method with the whiteboard, it feels like you are in the same place and can interact on the same exercise. Either in English or french he will certainly be able to help you. He is super kind and flexible, I definitively recommend his services.
