I am Italian but I have lived one year in the USA for an intercultural exchange in high school, and I did a 5 months Erasmus in Portugal last semester; that is where I got to master the English language, which turned to be very useful during my frequent travels. Hello, My name is Giorgia. I hold a PhD in Italian from the Department of Romance Studies at UNC-University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I also hold a Ph.D. in Contemporary Philosophy focusing on Italian and French Aesthetics. I worked for fifteen years as a translator from French into Italian. My academic research is interdisciplinary and combines literary criticism and philosophy. My research interests include the relationship between contemporary Italian and French literature, the Italian and French avant-garde movements in literature and film, and the interactions between literature, philosophy, the arts, and film. For seven years, I have taught Italian at the elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels, and also taught a course on Italian cinema. In my teaching, I strive to contribute to improving conversational fluency, refining writing skills, and enriching vocabulary. Through contributions on art, history, politics, daily life, cinema, and Italian literature, I invite students to experience the complexity and richness of Italian culture and language.
