Lessons are 1-2 hours, to enable time for assessment, feedback and implementation of feedback. I will work with any student aged 11+. I can teach with a focus on preparation for a specific exam series, e.g. IB Diploma Literature/Language and Literature; I can help develop a particular skills area such as creative writing or speaking in academic presentations; I can offer help with homework and understanding set texts or quirks of the language; I can even build skills in higher-level punctuation, grammar, editing and proofreading. As shown in my varied career path, I am flexible and will work with students to adapt lesson resources and teaching methods to meet their needs.

Learning languages can be a very challenging task to do. Mainly when the classes are boring, go too fast and teach you things you feel like will never be able to use in real life. In my class I will teach you vocabulary, grammar, conjugation, as well as pronunciation, talking and hearing skills. I will differ my teaching on what you want to focus on, if it is for school work or personal goals. As I am a native speaker, I can also teach you about french culture, society and mannerisms (whatever you are curious about!). My wish is for you to feel that you are learning at a comfortable pace while having fun, and feeling that what you are learning is relevant to your goal. Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Learn the schedules by heart. 2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster. Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible.
