Saxophone Lessons, Piano Lessons and Recorder Lessons

I am professionally trained classical saxophone player and teacher.
Over the years I have had the opportunity to teach and perform in Europe (Slovenia, Austria, United Kingdom, Germany) and USA (St. Louis). I have worked with students aged from 5 to high school level, as well as adult beginners.

Teaching using a French school method of saxophone I specializing in classical and contemporary music literature.
I incorporate some music theory, specialize in building the correct saxophone embouchure (or the correct lipping), overtone technique for advanced students , airstream production and correct breathing technique. Adapting specific saxophone-technique methods to each student's needs and progress.

Finding lessons fun is important for the success of learning an instrument so I always do my best to keep our lessons relaxed and engaging.

About Me

As a classically trained saxophonist, I have been passionately teaching since 2013. My journey in music education has taken me across Europe and the United States, enriching my experience in diverse cultural settings, from Slovenia and Austria to the United Kingdom, Germany, and St. Louis, USA.

I have had the privilege of guiding a wide range of students - from young beginners at the age of 5 to high school students and adult novices. Each teaching experience has been a unique opportunity to share my love and knowledge of music.

My teaching philosophy centers around not just imparting technical skills, but also nurturing a deep appreciation for music. Whether my students aim to enjoy music as a fulfilling hobby or aspire to carve out a career as professional musicians, I dedicate myself to helping them achieve their goals with enthusiasm and dedication.

Piano Lessons in English for Beginners: Fun, Creative, Interactive.
Composition, improvisation, note-reading, fun games, sight-reading, singing, music theory. Piano lessons are available from a native English speaker in your home or at my studio in Prenzlauer Berg! The piano is a fantastically rewarding, therapeutic and challenging instrument, and a really enjoyable hobby. It can also be a skill for life and a career, or simply help to improve communication, socials skills, memory, independent learning and well being. It is never too late to start, and lessons can be suitable for very young children, contrary to popular belief. I like to focus on making my lessons fun, practical and interactive for every student. I use a variety of activities and tailor the lessons around things that my students are interested in. The more fun I am having the more fun the student has! I know that one of the biggest reasons for giving up piano lessons is that the students do not like the music that they are playing. I make every effort to find out what students enjoy, and seek out or arrange music especially for them. Time slots available now. Reply to this ad to inquire about times and rates. Piano, singing, and songwriting lessons in Berlin Prenzlauerberg

Recorder! Flûte à Bec! Blokflöte! For instrument and music theory pupils.
Like with languages, intuition plays a huge part in learning an instrument. Most often in music, the correct choice will the the one that ~feels~ the most natural. This is what my teachers, from when I was a kid, all the way to the end of my studies at the conservatory, have prioritized in lessons; Working less hard to sound better. I’m here to help you in the same way, to decipher with you certain sounds, certain gestures in recorder playing, so that we can map out together your skill set, and eventually find your own style of play. When it comes to the grammar part of music, I’m ready to teach you everything about reading notes, intervals, chords, and all the principles of music theory, with examples and fun exercises. I am a very patient person, and have experience with beginners as well as “matured” amateurs :) I hold a masters in early music, along with a bachelors in classical composition. My dream is to live from composition mainly, writing music for concerts, film and ballet. Currently I’m working on a ballet commission from the Schauspielhaus in Zurich, and more original music for a series of concerts next summer in France. My favorite composers are Bartok... and a bunch of anonymous medieval ones. How about you?

Saxophone Lessons with professional musician // all levels and styles
I am here for anybody wanting to learn or improve on the Saxophone or, but also offering introductory classes for beginners on the piano, flute or clarinet. In one-to-one lessons I would like to show students different doors in music to jazz and popular music and convey excitement and joy in this complex and magical science. My emphasis is on sound, phrasing, music theory, rhythm and ear training and improvisation. The lessons are atmospherically relaxed and should stimulate personal interest. Above all, it is very dependent on the student, as I try to adapt to you individually in this regard, because music is a very subjective thing. Beginners as well as advanced learners of all ages are welcome!

Piano lessons - music theory and harmony - for any level
I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Piano Lessons in Classical and Contemporary Styles for Beginning-Advanced Levels (ages 6 and up)
Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music." Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (USA). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.
