Hi, my name is Jeremy and I’m a professional funk bassist. I've been playing music for 17 years, having performed and composed with many groups and ensembles across England and Belgium. I will teach you how to reach your goals while having fun in the process, keeping lessons tailored to your personal needs. I have years of experience helping students improve as well as experience in many different styles of music such as Funk, Rock, reggae, jazz, blues etc! Some examples of what you might learn include: - The basics and advice for beginners - What makes a good bassline - Learning songs that you like - Breaking down rhythms & dynamics - Essential music theory for bass & more advanced techniques (eg: melodic techniques, rhythmic, slap bass, etc) - improvising, jamming and playing with others Appropriate homework/exercises and recordings are provided during lessons. He studied at the "Musikene" (Higher Conservatory of Music of the Basque Country) with Eric Devallon, Tomás Jérez, Antonio Felipe Belijar and Miguel Ángel Lorente. Passionate about multidisciplinary artistic creation, he thinks of the mixing of all the arts in the same show as an aesthetic goal. This type of research could be observed in his project for his final master's recital in Brussels where he created a project based on Maslow's theory of the hierarchy of human needs where he mixed live, recorded music, dance, light shows and effects under the name: “according to Maslow... ” In terms of his career as a concert artist, he has played in different ensembles (solo performances, duo, trio, quartet, orchestra...) and different countries such as Japan (Artisanal Musical Fair "Suono Italia" 2010), Belgium (Festival Musiq3 2016), Artonov Festival at BOZAR in 2016...), France (Dax chamber music festival 2011) or Spain (Music Festival “Quincena Musical” 2015, Aste Nagusia 2015, Heineken Jazzaldia 2014, Festival Kutxa 2015, Intercentros Melómano 2010).

On jazz music and/or improvisation, expand the vocabulary for improvising, the knowledge of harmony, what you can do with the material you know from different perspectives, increase precision and sense of direction when phrasing lines, learn more jazz standards, help on original compositions. And of course share all the better understanding of jazz music I learned during my years in New York City.

I focus on giving saxophone lessons to people with a solid or basic foundation who wants to improve or start improvising. This course is especially for those who feel stagnant in improving their music skills. I will actively analyse your areas for improvement and provide personal guidance and methods. I am very aware that each person thinks differently while improvising: personal exercises are given, depending on your needs. Applied music theory lessons are a support of this class. I integrate chord theory into practical saxophone lessons, making a key connection between ear and theory. I started playing classical saxophone, and I am currently a Jazz saxophone student at the conservatory of Brussels.
