My name is Guy, and I am a Brit/Belgian currently living near Mérode in Etterbeek, Brussels. I can offer beginner/intermediate/advanced classes, conversation classes, and can help students pass their English language exams. I am happy to do it online, at your place, or at my place. It's never too soon or late to learn or improve your English skills which is why I'm available for all age ranges. I will be available as of 25 February 2025 to give lessons to you or your children. I have taught English before to Italian and Belgian children (aged 7-12) who has vastly improved their writing and oral skills at school. Some were complete beginners, some had trouble with pronunciation, and were always grateful for the help I gave them. A little bit about myself: I am 31 years old, bilingual (English and French), speak Italian, some Dutch, and I'm currently studying Slovenian at the ULB in Brussels. I play a bit of saxophone too!

I have a British Council teaching qualification and am familiar with preparing candidates for European institution interviews as well as students for their European and International baccalaureate exams. Graduated in Chemistry at the Free University of Brussels, I offer teaching accessible to all and help in preparing questions or exams. (or simple upgrade) Sciences are often hard to assimilate because of their sometimes abstract nature or because of the enormous amount of information to remember. My goal is to help the student progress at their own pace through a real understanding of the material. What's the point of remembering if you don't understand. I check whether the material has been assimilated from one lesson to the next and I can provide additional exercises if necessary.

Understanding and knowing how to speak Dutch and English is a major asset in Belgium. I am bilingual French-Dutch and I would like to be able to help other people progress. I adapt to the level of my student. I can give private lessons or academic support lessons. I am also currently continuing my studies in English. ABOUT ME: I am a student in translation and interpretation in English / German / French. I am of English and Japanese origin and English is therefore my mother tongue. I lived in London until my teenage years and then continued my studies in Belgium. My French is also of maternal level as I have been here for a long time. COURSE CONDUCT: I give lessons to beginners and intermediates. I personally find it extremely difficult to learn a language by studying only grammar, vocabulary and syntax. So I use an approach where we implement, orally or in writing, all the rules that the learning books give us in order to better understand and retain the language.
