Violin lessons from classical to pop for beginners and advanced

Ive been working as a professional music teacher (ukulele & vocal) since 2009 working with individual clients as well as group workshops in various institutions including the EPO, Music Akademie Süd, Swing and the City, Ente 39 etc. As I grew up bilingually (English/German) I have been teaching both in English and German and hold a Cambridge Proficiency Certificate. I am also a published writer of poetry and art. Recently I have started to take on private work as a translator and am now offering English and German conversation on all sorts of topics, creative contexts and settings for all those who wish to improve their language skills. Language is a powerful tool and can shape the way we perceive and interact with the world. I enjoy making learning a creative explorative and personal experience, which has, i believe the greatest and longest lasting impact on the student.

I have been playing the violin for 20 years and am a fully qualified classroom music teacher in the UK. With my strong pedagogical background and understanding of what makes a good music lesson, I come not just with my knowledge and skills as a musician but also my knowledge and skills as a teacher. I have experience of teaching the ABRSM syllabus and Trinity College London Classical syllabus, and am able to support you in preparing for graded exams or simply learning for fun! Each lesson will incorporate music theory, technical knowledge and performance skills in an engaging and relaxed environment. We can focus on exam pieces if a graded exam is your goal, or we can choose pieces from any genre that takes your interest to build up your technical and performance skills. I love taking suggestions from my students and these are always welcome! I am able to offer music theory lessons in addition to violin lessons. This will be based on the ABRSM syllabus up to grade 5 level, and I can also support students in preparing for these exams. I look forward to being your music teacher and learning together!

Since beginning my language teaching career in 2012, I have led instruction in Spanish and English as foreign languages in prestigious International Schools around the globe. I am currently a whole-school Spanish Teacher at the British School of Warsaw, teaching children from the age of 8 years old through to 18, focusing on Key Stages 2 and 3 of the National Curriculum for England, the Cambridge iGCSE program of studies for Spanish as a Foreign Language and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) for Spanish Language B. Communicative Methodology The lessons are based on everyday situations that are relevant to the student's sociocultural reality. The main focus is to learn the language in the context in which it is actually used, presenting situations such as at a restaurant, at home, or talking on the phone. In addition, it emphasizes communication between students in these situations, allowing them to exchange experiences. For example, to work on past tense verbs, we can talk about what you did over the weekend. This way, the student applies the new language to their everyday situations. Reading and writing related to these everyday situations are also worked on, encouraging reflection and helping to solidify the content. The method works for both beginner and advanced students. The lessons are naturally developed around practical topics, always focused on real-life subjects (based on the student’s reality). Since we will be learning English or Portuguese through practical contexts, we won't waste time teaching grammar traditionally, which makes the lessons more dynamic and interactive.
