I've been teaching percussion, the drums and music theory for a little more than 4 years now. My students are always the real actors of my courses. No matter what instrument you are learning, be it percussion, the drums, marimba, vibraphone, or music theory, I always pay close attention to your personal goals, and together we devise a unique learning plan that adapts to your strengths as well as your weaknesses. My courses are aimed at anyone who is willing to put effort into learning music; children or adults, complete beginners or more advanced players who wish to receive additional feedback and insight. Autonomy, creativity, curiosity and listening skills are the true pillars of my methodology. We pay as much attention to technique as to musicality or listening skills. Additionally, I provide tailored exercises, on-demand sheet music and transcriptions according to your needs, as well as additional resources and recommendations on my website to nourish your musical life and journey. I teach the following: -the drums, in various styles (rock, funk, jazz, shuffle, pop, world music, latin music, on-demand songs) and forms (Moeller technique, speed, rudiments, syncopation, breaks, solo, independence, musicality, double pedal, push-pull, etc.); -percussion (2 or 4-mallet marimba and vibraphone, xylophone, timpani, cajón, hand percussion), in both contemporary and classical music styles; -music theory, which can and will easily be integrated into my drumming or percussion courses, or can be taught as a separate course for music students who are seeking remedial education; -harmony; -sight reading techniques; -perfect and relative pitch (experimental)

I take it very seriously and try to tailor my teaching to every student that I have. I can use my experience as a proffecional musician to make you progress fast and focus on things not every teacher knows from books. In this course we will focus on technique as well as creativity and improvisation (one of the most enjoyable aspects of playing drums). Do you have any other percussion instrument you'd like to expand your knowledge on? I can offer you percussion lessons as well since I have a lot of experience in playing percussion as well. If you want to study with me I can provide a stable program for development for fast results including scores, exercises, etc. About me: As well as teaching, I'm mainly a performer of music - I've been playing drums with different bands as well as classical percussion for more than 15 years now in many different settings. Trusted teacher: Hello! I'm Nina, a drummer from Amsterdam. I am currently studying pop/rock drums at the Herman Brood Academy in Utrecht. I play in 2 bands. I also play in many different session projects (from pop to rock). I work a lot with hybrid drums (triggers and SPD) and also teach them with Ableton. The studio is located in the Q-Factory in Amsterdam with two professional drum kits and sound system. In addition, I can occasionally offer a lesson in Utrecht! If all this is too far or for some other reason not reachable, lessons at home and / or online are also possible! We can work on, among other things: - Hand technique (how do I hold my sticks? Or which stick technique do I use for different music styles?) Creativity (how can I ultimately make cool parts on the drums myself? Or different parts than what you initially came up with?) - Improvisation (lots of playing and trying!) - Timing (playing along with songs, with click tracks, how can I become more playful with the click?) - Relaxed posture - Drum notation (learning to read drum notes) - New fills, grooves and beats - Sound (how do I tune my drums? which drum sound do I want for different types of music?) - Hybrid drums (working with samples on the SPD and/or triggers) in combination with Ableton And of course we will play along to your favorite songs a lot! 45€Music and Drumming: Becoming a Confident Personality Behind the Kit
Becoming a confident musician is a skill that requires discipline, dedication and hard work. However I strongly believe that whether you wish to progress your skills on an instrument to a professional level, simply get the most out of playing In a band with friends or jamming along to your favourite playlists, the art of learning an instrument is an incredibly rewarding skill. In our lessons we will focus on building a solid foundation across the basics of playing the Drum Kit. We will discover the rich and diverse history of the instrument and move through the jazz, funk, rock and pop era's of music. While I am happy to tailor all of these lessons to the student's needs, I do believe having a basic knowledge of where the instrument and it's vocabulary came from is essential and will have a positive impact on the students playing. Listening is important! We will work through a number of landmark recordings that carve the path of the Drum Kit's evolution and continue the listening process all the way to your favourite songs and how the drums affect that music and the rest of the band! I am also happy to work through ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall and/or Rockschool exam grades. Music is all about communication, and being able to fluently communicate ideas on any instrument requires time and practice. However, like with your very first English lessons in school, over time you can develop the skill of communication to a point where you can exchange many different ideas and create interesting conversations (this time between musical instruments rather than your friends in the pub!). Although I understand music is a not a career for everyone, I strongly believe that learning how to play any instrument properly with discipline and good practice will enhance your life is more ways than anyone who doesn't play music will understand.
