Trusted teacher: Dear Madam/Dear Sir, I am pleased to offer you tailor-made English lessons to help you improve your language skills. Recognizing that mastery takes time, my goal is to guide you in improving your level of French and give you the means to continue learning independently. I will support you in regularly assessing and improving your abilities. I currently live in Brussels (Ixelles). I am willing to travel within a 30-minute radius to help you at home. Alternatively, we can hold our sessions in a library. My name is Victor, 22 year old student in mathematics and economics. Aspiring to become a teacher, I bring enthusiasm, patience and tenacity to my teaching approach. In Lyon, I was able to experience part-time work in schools, helping children with their extracurricular homework. My goal is to show that school is enjoyable and easily manageable. I love the English language. Since primary school, I have worked on it to understand and use it perfectly. I continually improved this skill through college. Our sessions will focus on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation through writing, speaking and listening exercises. With access to a large amount of online resources, we can personalize our approach to accelerate your progress toward fluency in French. Each session will include two 25-minute work periods with a 5-minute break in between, following the Pomodoro technique to maximize attention. We will use various learning techniques such as priming, interleaving and the Feynman method to ensure complete understanding. The goal is to actively engage the student, creating pathways for brain stimulation. After each session, I will provide recommendations for additional practice. The first session will be based on the assessment of the student's level and their preferred type of memory (kinesthetic, visual or auditory). For more information or to schedule a session, please contact me, I will respond as quickly as possible. Best regards, Victor

Trusted teacher: Hi there! I'm Lynn, a languages and all culture-related enthusiast with a particularly keen interest in singing, storytelling and transdisciplinary art. Which in turn led me to be a freshly graduated Master-student in Performing Arts, with a Bachelor's degree in Modern Languages and Letters where I primarily studied English as well as Russian linguistics and literature, along with a Dutch minor. These university years gave me the opportunity amongst others to learn more in-depth about the subjects I was most passionate about during my Art Humanities, i.e. performance studies, philosophy, art - and cultural history, as well as literary/critical analysis of various different artforms. Brought up bilingual (French-Dutch) from earliest infancy, I very early came to realise the many possibilities and encounters this opened up, which encouraged me to continue down this path of language learning and intercultural communication. At first, I was incredibly fortunate to benefit from the work of a truly invested and passionate English teacher during the scope of my humanities and to acknowledge all of the difference that it makes when learning a foreign language. Subsequently, prior to my studies I got the chance to travel to Ireland for a year during which I mainly worked as an au pair. This not only took my English to the next level, but also sharpened my childcare skills and pedagogical abilities. Now that I've completed my studies and am opening up a new chapter of my working-life, I'm very excited to put all of this baggage to work along with you! I wholeheartedly believe in the power of play and sharing fun, artistic and/or meaningful activities which help put things into practice in order to learn a new language in a lively, profound and sustainable way. So, what do you think? Care to invite me aboard your learning journey?~ ⛵🗺️✨

Trusted teacher: Hi, I am an international student from China currently pursuing graduate studies in education. I speak Japanese, Chinese (mother tongue) and French. I have studied in Japan, Hungary, Spain and Belgium and lived in China for 20 years. Since 2016, I have been working as a language teacher while studying and earning my undergraduate degree in Education in the aforementioned countries. I have taught more than 20 students so far, and the students and parents have responded very favorably to the results and the learning process, and have been motivated to learn a foreign language. I strongly believe that education is not a painful process, it is not only about learning subjects, but also about motivation, mental health and proper values. My relationship with my students is more like that of a friend; a superior teacher-student relationship can only lead to a negative reaction to the content. My students love my classes because they are filled with interesting and logical explanations, and I take every student's question seriously. For younger students, I will use more interesting and vivid examples to explain abstract knowledge, for example: the letter "a" is a mouth with a snake next to it, in which case we will surely yell "ah". For adults who are able to think logically, I will choose to explain in a more logical way, e.g. if there is the character for fire on the left side of the Chinese word "烤", the left of the word which is "火" looks like a campfire,so any word with this "campfire" means something about fire or high temperature, and the right part can be used to deduce the pronunciation of the word. My courses are available via Terminals, Skype, dingding, etc. If you are in Brussels then you are welcome to come to one of my offline courses! The classes can be taught in Chinese, English.

Trusted teacher: What to expect? Young children - More of a game/activity learning method but also involves learning a broad scheme of things. It is in a way, an introduction to the basics of the language. Teenagers - Usually involve set goals to reach by a certain period (for school). The teaching method and intensity depends on the amount of catching up to do. If no catch up is required a more friendly learning method can be applied depending on the learner's interests. Adults - More of a discussion-based learning method, depending on the experience of the learner. And can be oriented more towards specific subjects or domains chosen by the learner. It can involve course work or tasks to be done. Why me? I was born in Scotland but I grew up mostly in the french-speaking part of Belgium so I would say that both English and French are my natal languages. I have decent knowledge of the various English cultures, vocabulary, and grammar. Having traveled for a year in North America and having lived in Australia, Ireland, and Britain. My mother is an english teacher in a secondary school and has given private english lessons ever since we moved to Belgium when I was six years old . I have participated or helped in many classes when needed. I have access to a ton of material and her personal knowledge if I or we are experiencing a problem that we can't seem to solve. Or an issue the learner is experiencing that is preventing him/her from advancing. I am a very "auto-ditact" person who tries to maximize the resources I have and the ones I have access to. I am good at understanding and solving problems and I believe that I can apply this to teaching as well. I am a very professional person that tries to stay as relaxed and calm as possible. I am also extremely patient and have a lot of dedication. If there is a deadline and a goal to meet, I will try my very best to make things work. Additional info I also know the humiliation that we sometimes feel when speaking a foreign language. I try to be as impartial and non-judgemental as I can in order to make the person feel as relaxed as possible when communicating with them.
