My lessons are tailored to people in secondary and tertiary education eager to understand and excel in the social sciences and the humanities. If you have trouble with your coursework, need specialised guidance for an exam or simply want an in-depth teaching experience on social science disciplines we can arrange a meeting and talk about your goals. Why choose me? As an alumnus of 4 top-tier European Universities (University of Oxford, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, University of Leiden, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) I have had my scholarship tested in rigorous environments throughout European Academia. My specialisation is in European History and Civilisation but in my 6 years of studying and research, I acquired direct experience in interdisciplinary academic discourse. You should expect the teaching of up-to-date methods in social science and a competitive insight into standardised exams. Teaching method: student-centric individualised approach, exam-oriented materials, extracurricular guidance and recommendations Content of Lessons: My approach is divided into 2 parts 1) Theory and Concepts of the chosen discipline. 2) Building an emancipated studying manner to understand how all social science and humanities disciplines stem from specific patterns of reasoning common in all disciplines. Advice on how to turn an application/exam into an admission for students who wish to enter British, French, Dutch and Greek Universities is included in the lessons. *If you are interested in language lessons please note that I offer lessons in ancient, medieval and modern Greek*

1-1 tutoring sessions aimed to help students improve their grades and essay writing skills. Ideal for students needing a bit of extra help in preparing for their GCSE or A-Level exams. I adopt a friendly and encouraging method of tutoring which focuses on what the student needs from me in order to make progress. I can, for instance, look at students' past assignments, tests and exams in order to give feedback, identify weak points and make improvements together in the session. We can also read and analyse texts together, if this is something that might help improve their ability to pick out themes, make comparisons and critically think about the literature. For History classes, we can, for example, focus on planning longer essay questions and / or doing source analysis - picking apart a source and assessing its purpose, content and value. English Literature texts that I know particularly well include Macbeth, Othello, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Great Gatsby, Atonement, An Inspector Calls, Hard Times, and Keats's Poetry. History subjects I have a particularly strong knowledge in include Revolutionary Russia 1850-1950 and the 17th Century English Civil Wars. However, I also have a broad knowledge of many different historical topics and periods, including the British Empire, colonisation and decolonisation in Africa, Enlightenment Europe and 20th Century America. I will always try my best to integrate the methods of teaching and marking that the student's school prefers.

Hi! As a history student, I’ve developed strong study skills and effective methods for breaking down complex topics, which I now adapt to help my students learn in a way that suits them best. While I don’t have formal teaching experience, my academic journey has given me a solid foundation in research, organisation, and clear communication—all of which I bring to my lessons. I will design my lessons to be tailored and interactive. In the first session, I like to start with a conversation to understand your goals, what you’re currently working on, and where you feel you need the most help. This allows me to prepare resources and materials specifically for your needs, ensuring our time together is as productive as possible. My teaching method focuses on creating a structured yet flexible format. Typically, I am thinking to begin by explaining key concepts or reviewing material you might be struggling with. From there, we’ll work on practice questions—some we’ll tackle together, and others you’ll try on your own to build confidence and independence. This approach not only helps reinforce what you’ve learned but also ensures that you feel supported throughout the process. (If you have school homework, we can work through it during our lessons, ensuring you fully understand the material. Additionally, I can provide extra practice papers or assignments for you to complete between sessions if you’d like to deepen your understanding.) I’m here to support you every step of the way. My ultimate goal is to help you feel more confident in your abilities, whether we’re working on understanding challenging topics, completing assignments, or preparing for exams. Learning doesn’t have to be stressful—it can be engaging and even enjoyable with the right approach! Apart from being a history graduate I’m passionate about sharing the rich and diverse flavors of Turkish, Cypriot, and Greek cuisine! Growing up in Cyprus, I developed a deep love for the culinary traditions of the region, and now I enjoy teaching others how to recreate these delicious dishes at home. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned cook, I’m here to guide you with easy-to-follow recipes, tips, and techniques. From hearty stews to fresh mezes, I aim to bring the vibrant tastes of the Mediterranean to your table.

Private French lessons for adults and teenagers with native French speaker in Co. Mayo (Newport)
Phillip
It is always a pleasure to meet Phil for our weekly online French classes. He is a patient and kind teacher and always full of energy for our class. Phil is interested in a wide range of topics, so we always have something to talk about based on an article he selected as 'homework'. What I really appreciate about his way of teaching is that he corrects me during our conversation without breaking the flow of our talk, so I can really feel my confidence in speaking French increasing each class. I woulf highly recommend Phil if you are looking for a French tutor :)

Justin
Justin is a true professional and is really gifted at helping job seekers in their career path. He assisted me a lot with career advice, job application adaptation and proofreading. He is really good at communication, reading between the lines, and highlighting the core idea. Our lessons or as I would rather call it a master class, were absolutely great and easy going. Thank you very much, Justin, for your amazing approach, custom-made professional and easy attitude, and a super international mindset. I would very much recommend it!

Awni
Awni is a wonderful instructor! He is very patient, will answer any question you can think of, and can have a laugh with you during lessons as well! His lessons are very helpful and structured, he is willing to go at your pace and repeat or go over things as many times as needed. It is very evident he is professional and has more than enough education and knowledge to teach the language very thoroughly!! I would highly recommend to take him as a teacher!
