As a pianist and music teacher, I have several years of experience in private and public schools in Italy and I'm now teaching at the Royale Conservatoire of Antwerp. I am familiar with the classical and jazz repertoire as well as with 20th and 21st-century music. I'm passionate about introducing this beautiful and exciting field of art and its related knowledge. If you don't have any music experience or if you already know music and want to develop or study a particular argument, my classes focus on the construction of a personalized study trajectory and methods based on the level, interests, and expectations of the student! In my opinion, the student is the main actor in his learning, and the teacher should be his caring guide. In my opinion, his role is to provide him with appropriate help and support, and not to impose pre-established rules that do not take into account his unique needs. The image of the harsh and cold teacher should therefore be forgotten with me. My philosophy is always to encourage without imposing. The student will also have the opportunity to have access to a much broader repertoire than that imposed in classical education. Thus, he will be able to play his favorite music from all walks of life, whether it be themes from songs, plays, films, series or even video games. Of course, I also encourage classical music, as long as the student finds pleasure in it, which remains and will remain the most important for me. I have just started cello as an adult learner. Boris is an excellent teacher for me. Introducing the fundamentals with patience and adapted to my capabilities. He is clear in his instructions and is very knowledgeable about the history of the cello. I would recommend him as a teacher for novice adult learners.
