Hello! I've been teaching English as a second language and tutoring for 2 years, and have worked with over 70 children so far. These have ranged from 4 years old to 17 years old. I am more experienced with younger children who are at either a beginner or an intermediate level, but I also have experience tutoring teenagers in higher-level English classes to help with classwork and preparing for exams. I've really found a passion in teaching, and have decided to pursue it as a long-term career. I'm currently in the last stage of completing my TEFL level 5 qualification (equivelent to DipHE, CELTA, and Trinity CertTESOL). This first lesson will mostly be introductory in nature, for us to introduce ourselves to each other and for me to assess their skill level and their needs and reasons for taking lessons. I specialize in helping students maintain a fluent conversation in Spanish using class time to improve pronunciation and fluency. At the same time, the student is provided with a practical guide where grammar will be explained and they will be able to do infinite practical exercises that help them improve their understanding and analysis of text. We also work with images, sounds and videos so that the student can recognize, interpret for themselves and improve their hearing ability. At the basic and intermediate levels I use a system where the student can listen, copy and repeat information similar to the beginning of learning their native language. I assign homework after each lesson and report student progress month by month. I specialize in teaching Math, English, French, Biology, History and Geography. My goal is to challenge the learner / student and so to speak, "let the brain work", but not too overwhelming. I give homework if the parent is okay with it, and provide periodic progress reports. I teach at locations such as in the park, at my home or with the student / pupil.
