Music and Violin classes - beginner to intermediate

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music." Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (USA). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

The content of the lessons is adapted to the needs and wishes of each student. It is possible to follow a combination of music theory and instrument, or only focus on one aspect. Depending on the student's goal, the level, teaching method and music styles are adjusted and personalized in consultation. Together we will look at what your learning needs are and which method suits you best. I am familiar with different styles for both harp and piano, from classical music (baroque, impressionism, classicism, romanticism and contemporary music), to folk music, jazz standards, pop songs or minimalist music. There is also the option to work from improvisations. The lessons are suitable for all ages and levels, the personal profile of the student is central.

This class is for people who are passionate about the saxophone and are interested in learning how to play it or level up his/her current skills. Also this class will help you with improving your ear and melodical thinking. If you are a complete beginner and afraid of the fact that it won’t work - no stress, I give you a guarantee that you will play your first song after a 5th lesson! If you have some experience already and want to take a step further - I’m looking forward to guide you through the whole journey of new musical experiences. I’m having a personal approach to each of my students, so you can be sure the lessons are not going to be boring! I find it very inspiring when the student hears him/her making a difference every lesson.

My singing lessons are designed to help each student express themselves to the fullest, accompanying them in the process of discovering their own voice. I give in-person and online voice lessons for students of all levels and needs with a personalized curriculum depending on the student's interests and style preference. During my lessons I range from vocal technique to music theory with the intent of creating a personal and varied repertoire that follows the aptitude and predisposition of the student. I also offer the opportunity to explore the area of composition and interpretation.

Anyone, at any age, can learn to play the piano if he or she wants. I'm happy to help you. I work with children and adults. I will teach you how to play from scratch or help those who already know how to continue learning. I can also help you prepare for an exam or presentation. I will explain and show everything. But I will get there! 04 - In your opinion, what is the most complicated instrument to master and why? - It was impossible to answer. Each person has different predispositions. For me to play the piano at a high level would be complicated for the need for independence of the right and left hands. In this sense, the guitar is easier. 05 - What are, for you, the keys to success (apart from those of Sol and Fa)? - Constance, it's always better to practice a little every day than a lot once in a while. Patience, learning an instrument takes time. You have to learn to coordinate the body and the brain and take new paths from time to time.
