A constant focus in all cases is to ensure that students learn notation and music reading, which gives them some independence. In my 20+ years playing the cello I have been lucky to build an international career as a solo and orchestral musician in places like Bremen (Germany), Sweden (Göteborg), Spain (Malaga), and Belgium (Gent). I have 4+ years worth of experience teaching online/in person, in multiple countries, as well as a C1 Cambridge certificate of English. I also have a B1 level of Nederlands. I have music articles published as well. My philosophy of teaching is to teach my students in a comprehensive way how to use their body 100% efficiently. I will teach them how to play in the most natural way, getting rid of tensions and fears in the process. My name is Irene, I started my career as a cellist in the south of Spain, between Andalusia and Murcia, where I did my bachelor's degree in cello performance. Later I moved to Belgium to continue my studies, where I studied the Master in Classical Music (cello performance) at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent. I have been teaching cello for 8 years both in Spanish and English to all ages and levels, combining my teaching activity with the interpretative improvement of my instrument. I have collaborated with numerous national orchestras and I have received master classes from great cellists at an international level. In Belgium, I currently collaborate with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Flanders and the Chamber Orchestra of Flanders, among others.
