I'm a native English speaker from Canada, currently living in Prague, with many years of ESL and university teaching experience. I work with intermediate to advanced students (B1-C2), with most of my students interested in conversation/communication English (focusing on speaking and listening skills, and including improving vocabulary, fluency, pronunciation, and grammar), but I’m also happy to work with students on writing and reading. My teaching style is engaging, creative and friendly—I try to make every lesson an interesting and enjoyable one. But I’m also professional, prepared, organized, and reliable. I rarely use a textbook—some students enjoy primarily having conversation without other resources needed, but I also often use songs, videos, and texts of various kinds to provide a wide variety of topics, new vocabulary, varieties of listening practice, etc., and I also use varieties of ESL material from various internet sources as well.
