I am an Italian native speaker in Leuven until the end of January and I would like to help people improving their knowledge of the Italian language. I am a 24 years old girl from Verona. I study English and Russian for a Master's degree, so I am used to the learning of languages. The lesson could take place in any library or wherever the student wishes.

Hello, I'm Verdiana and I'm a Master student at KU Leuven. I tutor students and offer private lessons since I was 16, thus I've gained quite some experience on the topic. My main focus is on foreign language because I've studied them for 5 years. Here in Leuven though, I would like to teach Italian, my native language. During a one-hour-class, you'll get the chance to explore the (difficult but fascinating) Italian grammar, to practice both your oral and written skills and to learn some useful Italian phrases. Each class is personalised depending on the aspects of the language that the student wants to improve (speaking, grammar, writing, comprehension). I am Valentina and I am a PhD student in Neuroscience. I was born in Italy, in Trento. I love the teaching of my mother tongue! I have experience in the italian private lessons since three years. I used to be prepared and clear during my lessons, to optimize the time to learn a lot in a short time, and to adapt to the needs/knowledge of the person. I am available during the week in the evening after 7 p.m., and in the weekend all day.

- I'm a professional Italian teacher from Italy, now living in Rome. I have 10 years teaching experience. I am very patient and I love to make a relaxed and friendly class environment. I have qualifications and experience teaching at different levels and in different contexts. I can help the student to improve the oral, written, and comprehension skills. Most important is that each course is based on the needs, interests and availability of the student. - The method is mainly what is called communicative, aimed at stimulating the student to speak immediately and put the focus on the functional aspect of the language. For beginners, I usually follow a specific program, I prepare a course and for each lesson I send students the files that I scan from the various books. Also the lessons can be essentially developed as conversations on specific subjects.

Italian is a wonderful language for its diversity and musicality, which fascinates people all over the world. Obviously, it is a language that requires application and practice for its learning. This is why I organize my courses in a hybrid way: For beginners : First, we will learn how to read and pronounce words correctly, as well as the first basic constructions for communicating (subject, verb, complement). Secondly, we will discover the different phenomena of the Italian language, focusing on their use. The goal is to start expressing simple thoughts, while communicating and having fun learning the language. For intermediaries: We will deepen the knowledge of the language and consolidate basic constructions, while adding new knowledge. The goal at this level is to begin to express more complex thoughts and, above all, to be able to express oneself independently. For the advanced: The enrichment of the Italian language and the expression of emotions and opinions will be at the heart of our work. The materials I use come from books, manuals, videos, podcasts, and are personalized for each of my students.

In this course, you will learn a range of linguistic methods and learn the terms used for describing a specific aspect of language or phenomenon (lexis, morphemes, and 'telegraphic stage' to give a few examples). The course requires you to explore your own data using quantitative and qualitative analysis (eg: how frequently are slang phrases used? Are there new auxiliaries being created?). No historical linguistics or literature is involved, but language change or specific traits will be sampled via your own data collection (if this is what is demanded in your course). As many students need to present a "year abroad" dissertation at University level (3rd year in the UK of a Modern Languages or Linguistics Undergraduate course) I can help you to research and structure your year abroad work, both in English (Linguistics) and Romance languages (French, Italian, Spanish). The topics that have arisen from recent discussions with students relate to French Caribbean writing, Italian resistance and reprisals in Rome (Fosse Ardiatine), and Spanish Etica franquista in films (among others).

Hello everyone! I'm Giorgia and I come from Torino, Italy. I offer my native knowledge of Italian to any of you, who wants to discover this beautiful language. I teach for all levels, from very beginners to advanced speakers, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I can also help with university exams and school works/assignments. Being a pianist and a piano teacher, I already have lots of experience with teaching and pedagogical approach with the whole range of ages. The lesson is intended to meet the student needs: the focus can be on the grammar, conversation or literature. In case of a middle-level speaker, the lesson will cover all four language's abilities: listening, speaking, writing and reading. My suggestion of a well planned lesson is, for any level, to divide it into two parts: grammar first and then conversation (covering all the abilities mentioned above). I use a book that I integrate with different materials. Conversation is very important, but so is listening and understanding a text. I offer Italian lessons for adults using a specific, very lively and effective method that will allow you to understand, read books in Italian, watch films in the original version and above all to express yourself quickly, with a solid grammatical foundation, in everyday life, but also to have rich conversations with your interlocutors. Possibility of face-to-face or video lessons, at your convenience, knowing that my video lessons are just as interactive and lively as in person.

If you wish to brush up your Italian, resume a past series of lessons, or simply start from scratch learning Italian, this is the right lesson for you! I like to personalize each class/course according to the needs and goals of my students. My classes are focused on improving the student's communication skills. At beginner and lower intermediate levels, I prefer using a text book/ student book in the first part of the class. I usually use "Nuovissimo Progetto Italiano" and "Arrivederci" by Edilingua, or "Nuovo Espresso" and "Dieci" by Alma Publishing. For the second part of the lesson, I create engaging contents using original videos, press articles, extracts from blogs and social media, literary texts. If the students do not feel comfortable using Italian from scratch, I can switch to English, German, or Dutch. The course fee includes the correction of home assignments.
