I've learned that students absorb material the best when they are relaxed, having fun and in real world environments, so I do my best to incorporate those elements in all of my classes. A typical class involves us taking a stroll down a new neighborhood and chatting casually. Topics range with the student's fluency level, but typically include any of the below: -- the weather -- interesting things we pass by on our walk -- our career aspirations -- our travel plans or memories -- favorite television shows -- intriguing current events and news articles On the first day I ask that my students bring their language goals written down on a piece of paper.
