A graduate of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (Jazz), I have been involved in music my whole life, and a freelance professional since 2022. I have worked regularly in big bands and function bands across the UK and internationally. In the classes we will address the different elements that make up music in different styles, knowing the particular language of each one. To do this, we will work on the different tools that we have with each instrument at the level at which each one is. We all know music but many times they make us believe that no, that it is necessary to know how to read and write. That is the graphic part of the language that we will learn little by little, music is a compendium of many other things. Some that we already know and others to know. We will study the use of the keys and the positions of the clarinet, or the sax, the best way to position ourselves whether we play standing or sitting, the most efficient way to use the air, the diaphragm, the muscles. We will learn to form a good embouchure and we will develop a study method adapted to each one, according to their tastes, possibilities and interests. I work with boys and girls from different parts of the world as well as with adults and the elderly. In my experience I learned that, truly, the greatest limitation that we find ourselves is the very feeling of not being able, of believing that we cannot. The support of a dedicated teacher is essential to get out of those places where we accidentally enter and that sometimes limit us. We all feel that sometime. It is time for us to remedy it. I will provide my own materials in pdf, video and audio. There is no age limit.

I’m a 24-year-old Portuguese clarinetist, teacher, and musician with years of experience. I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Codarts University of the Arts and am currently pursuing my Master’s degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp. While my main expertise is in clarinet and classical music, I’m passionate about exploring other genres, including jazz and pop. I have extensive experience performing in a wide range of ensembles, orchestras, and combos across different styles. Teaching and inspiring other musicians is something I truly enjoy. We can work together on the instrument, breathing, resonance, mouth, fingers, technique, relaxation, posture, solfège, musical interpretation, stage presence... It is not necessary to know the music theory to start the clarinet, I can follow you from beginner level to preparation for examination and conservatory exams to advanced specialization classes.
