Hi there! My name is Norica. I am a pianist and a piano teacher from Tokyo. Just quickly to the point: My approach is holistic and systematic. It uses lots of fun exercises and nice educational materials from Japan in addition to the Internationally recognized standard books. (Don't worry, you don't have to understand Japanese!) You learn not only how to play piano but also how music works- music theory. I know what my students are good at and not so good at right off the bat. That's why I can tailor the lesson plans to their goals and needs. Also, if you like to take an ABRSM exam, the syllables will be tailored accordingly. So what will be tested on the day of the exam is integrated into the lessons and my class/lesson offers all-round preparation for the exam. I have helped my students pass G1, 3, 5 and 6 with a good score. Another important aspect of my lesson is to focus on improving cognitive skills - increasing memory, right-hand-left-hand-coordination, sustained attention, nonverbal communication, and a feeling of independence and freedom. I do so with unique materials from Japan and fun training. Currently students from 4 to 75 years old are taking my lessons. I hope to share the joy of playing the double bass and the piano through teaching. It is so pleasant to make music and I wish to let more people know about it. The classes are very flexible. You can expect leisure music playing but also intensive trainings. Lessons will be designed according to students’ intentions. I am able to teach in Cantonese, Mandarin and English. Feel free to reach out :) I have been playing the double bass for more than 10 years and have recently obtained my master degree in double bass from Royal Conservatory of The Hague. I started playing the piano when I was 10. On top of classical, I also play a lot of Christian and pop music on the piano, which I am also happy to teach.

There are two grand pianos at the location in Den Haag. There will be enough distance between the student and the teacher. For children, it is important to develop basic musical skills through Singing, Rythmique, and Ear training besides piano playing. I use one technical exercise book, the main textbook, and a theory book. Through these 3 books, students learn different aspects of music and they naturally get ready for exams and grades. After acquiring basic skills, students study Harmony and Chord exercises too. These are useful for playing pops and jazz, and they obtain a deeper understanding of classical pieces too. Private Piano lesson, from age 4 and above. Children can start the lesson after being able to read the numbers from 1 to 5 and the alphabet from A to G. Advanced students who want to prepare for competitions, auditions, ABRSM, GCSE, IB exams, or the entrance exam of the conservatory. The concert is held annually together with students of flute, violin, and composition teachers. For the ages 1-7 years, I have group Rhythmique lessons.

Hello! I am a classically trained pianist with a Master's Degree from the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. I have 8 years of teaching experience, with students from all ages and levels. Always trying to keep a creative environment where the students can express themselves in all aspects. I believe that it is necessary to be constant. The ideal would be one hour or hour and a half a week, but that depends on the student availability. I would provide a personal adaptation. I like playing games, singing and coming up to most creative solutions for learning fast inside of a save space for questions and imagination of the student. It is very important to motivate the students regarding to their music tastes. I consider myself an involved and motivated musician. I am currently studying at the Koninklijk Conservatorium, on the classical saxophone department, but I also play the piano for 12 years. I offer individual music lessons, coaching. I aim to have students challenged, motivated, but not overwhelmed. I take extra care to find out the students own learning tempo, and adjust the material to it.

You can choose one or both of the following subjects: Harmony (chord/scales, tonalities/progressions, modulations, etc.) and/or Solfège (rhythm/aural skills, pitch/sight-reading, writing scores...). The method I use also has an online audio (play along), so you can also practice in your house, play/sing along with the online audio: Classical and/or Jazz music theory; In any case, fun is paramount! There's also the possibility to learn about Harmony and Keyboard Voicings (Chords/Harmony), and/or Jazz Hanon (Chord-Melody). These methods can be put into practice with Harmony Progressions (also with your own Compositions/Tunes, etc.), so we we can see how Harmony works with the concept of Functional Harmony and beyond. The lessons are for all ages/levels and are taught in Dutch, English, Spanish, Catalan or Portuguese. Online lessons are also possible via Skype, Zoom or Face Time!

Start the new course learning to play piano! I am a professional classical pianist, accompanist, creator, and composer with a Bachelor's Degree from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and a Master's Degree from the Royal Conservatorium in the Hague. For 7 years now, I have been teaching students of all levels between 5 and 60 years old. Lessons are based on your level, interests, and goals. Together we can find out if you are keener on classical repertoire, or if you want to play your favorite pop music, some beautiful soundtrack from a movie you like or compose/improvise new pieces. With my experience in teaching diverse genres, I will help you explore the music that you like. The central pillars I always work with are technique and creativity, which are much more connected than you would expect! While we advance, I also introduce the basics (or more deeply, if you are interested) of music theory to learn to communicate with each other in musical terms (chords, keys, score reading, etc.). And above all, the goal is to enjoy and have fun!

After finishing my Bachelor of Music in Barcelona and at Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, I have been working as a piano teacher and accompanist for public and private music schools in Catalonia, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Music at the Royal Conservatory. In my piano lessons, pupils will learn from the very fundamentals of piano playing to a pre-college level. During the initial years, I prefer to structure students' learning into three core areas: Music reading, technical skills, and improvisation & free accompaniment (with more advanced learners placing less emphasis on reading). Other proficiencies such as memorization and expressivity also hold significant importance, yet my priority is always the discovery of joy and amusement while making music. Although my background lies in classical music, I teach a wide variety of styles. I allow the student to lead their learning journey, thus focusing on pieces that align with their interests while simultaneously exposing them to a broader range of musical genres and styles.
