In addition, I had the chance to have different masterclasses with distinguished Michel Bérrof, David Fray, Pavel Gililov, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden... I will be more than welcome to help anybody in any field in music. I can fluently speak French, Spanish, Catalan, English. As a result, lessons can be in any of those languages. I offer saxophone / clarinet / recorder lessons as well as piano lessons for all age groups, levels and styles (classical, jazz, improvisation, etc.) in Salzburg City, Salzburg Land and Freilassing. I am a trained clarinetist, saxophonist and pianist as well as a music teacher. After studying at the Mozarteum University and Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi, I founded my own chamber music and jazz project. Both projects are participants of various famous music festivals. I also perform as a clarinetist with various orchestras, play concerts as a solo musician, conduct workshops, etc. Languages of instruction: German, English and Russian. One lesson is: 30 / 45 / 60 min. Venue: at the student's home, online.

This class is all about the fun and love in music. I am very student oriented so whatever your goal is or what specific pieces you want to learn, we will work on that. A relaxing atmosphere is really important to me. A student should never fear to play wrong or feel bad because he/she didn't practice. We learn from mistakes and of course practicing would be really great, but in the end it is your goal to learn to play the piano, I'm just there to help you. Welcome! My name is Kym and I am the founder of Salzburg's first music school through the English language, Music through English Salzburg. I am an Irish pianist and piano teacher based in Salzburg, Austria. I hold a first class honours Master's degree in Piano Performance from MTU Cork School of Music, Ireland and two honours Bachelor's degrees in both Music and Education (BMus, BEd). I love both playing and teaching the piano and it has long been my dream to move open my own music school where I can do both! I teach in-person and online piano lessons for both beginner students and more advanced students. I am very passionate about piano performance and pedagogy, and I strive to make the lessons as engaging and student-centered as possible. Teaching piano and music theory to students who would like to be involved in classical music as amateurs as well as professional performers; including those who would like to enter music schools, colleges, universities and conservatories nationawide and worldwide. Working with singers privately and voluntarily from the State Opera of Istanbul and performing chamber music concerts with professional musicians nationwide. I possess more than 13 years of progressive experience in the piano teaching field as well as a chamber music pianist and an accompanist and a music theory teacher at the State Conservatory of Istanbul University where I have been working for more than 13 years and at Halic University for 2 years and since October 2019 at Oper im Berg Festival in Salzburg. Most recently, my responsibilities as a performing artist, a piano teacher and an accompanist and music theory teacher at the State Conservatory of Istanbul University, at Halic University and at Oper im Berg Festival in Salzburg match the qualifications you are seeking. My responsibilities include teaching to piano students of all levels includling college level and above as well as ear training, teaching music theory and accompanying to voice students, helping them in diction in Italian, German, French and English and interpretation of German Lieder repertoire at our singing and opera department. I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.
