Hello! My name is Orestis, I come from Cyprus and I am 27 years old. I am passionate about teaching, and one of the greatest joys of my professional career is watching my students flourish. I have been playing the piano for 20 years now and have over 7 years in teaching the piano. My goal is to make the piano lessons fun and enjoyable while also incorporating all the necessary elements, such as theory, music history and sight-reading, to create a well rounded musical education. I am experienced with exam preparations (ABRSM) and music school admissions exams, but I prefer to create my own curriculum to fit each student’s specific needs and aspirations. I studied at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, UK (BA) and at the Liszt Academy of Music, HU (MA). I have performed extensively as a solo and chamber musician and I had the joy to collaborate with various orchestras. My greatest joy in music is collaborating and creating music together with other musicians, and this is why I am now pursuing the Specialized Piano Chamber Music Master’s at ZHdK. 102FrAlternative Piano Lessons: Learn by ear and have fun!
Trusted teacher: I teach Piano in a fun, laid-back and casual way, always structuring my lessons around the students' needs and tastes. Please note: I specifically do not teach piano with notations or scores of any sort. My method of teaching is based on playing by ear, with emphasis on the music and the joy in playing it, rather than the theory. Notation is great and theory is important - I studied these myself; however, I have found that learning an instrument by ear is a far deeper, enjoyable and progressive way to get to know your instrument. I also place importance on technique and memorization, again tailoring these to the needs and wishes of the student. My methods have proven very successful and I'm confident your playing will improve quickly! I teach both children and adults, teenagers and grandparents :-) Maybe you already play, but would like some help improving your improvisational skills? Or perhaps you are a complete beginner and just want to find out, if this instrument is for you? Get in touch! Some background to my instruments: Piano: I initially taught myself the piano and took lessons later on. My main or favourite styles on the piano are: Blues & Boogie Woogie, Traditional Jazz, Rock n' Roll, Pop and Soul. I love many forms of Classical music as well. Guitar: I taught myself guitar as a kid and play both acoustic and electric. My favourite styles on the guitar are, on the one hand, heavy Rock, Metal and Punk, and on the other gentle Jazz, Blues and ballads :-) Drums: this became my main gigging instrument between '10 and '20. I mostly focus on funky grooves, hard Rock or Metal, Pop, Jazz, Swing; some rudiments, lots of grooves :-)

Fueled by my love for music, I moved to Rotterdam, Netherlands, to pursue a Bachelor's degree at Codarts University of Arts. Under the guidance of teachers like Natasha Morozova and Hed Yaron Meyerson, I refined my skills and nurtured my artistic vision. After completing my Bachelor's studies, I continued my musical exploration in Codarts' Master's program. Alongside my classical training, I've always been intrigued by the therapeutic potential of music. In 2023, I earned certification in Music Therapy, expanding my horizons and deepening my connection to the healing power of music. In collaboration with my colleagues, I am member of the Olga Trio. Our mission is to highlight the works of women composers throughout history. Accordion Lessons For All Levels And Musical Styles (Olten)
Noel
Noel was awesome. He is a very talented young musician, his ways of explaining musical notes and how they aply to the Accordeon was coherent and easy to follow. I had no idea about Accordeons at all and I never played a musical instrument before. Noel was able within 5 hrs to give me a very basic but helpful insight into how to play the left and then the right hand. He also explained me the basic of reading and writting notes. I am very thankful for his help to learn the very basic of playing the Accordeon, and I would recommend him for anybody interested to learn to play the Accordeon. He is capable to teach any level and any age groups, from kids to seniors.

I took a few lessons with Lasha so far and I had a great experience. Lasha is diligent in preparing the material for the sessions and he adapts the lessons to my specific level and to what I prefer to practice which allows me to progress in the directions I'm most interested about. Otherwise, Lasha is an easy going and nice person and I can happily recommend him to other students.
