Russian is quite difficult compared to other languages. Although, that doesn't mean it's impossible to learn. With beginners we will work on basic rules, practice the most commonly used vocabulary and pronunciation. Advanced students will focus on Grammar, which is very neatly collected in VLLeonovich's book (one of the best books for school students in preparation for university level). Also, Russian literature and the ability to analyze it are of great importance.

Hello everyone! I'm a professional teacher in different areas that include languages: Chinese (Mandarin), English, Russian. I have been teaching for about 10 years since I started my bachelor’s degree in Chinese studies and world literature in Ukraine. I have also worked as an early childhood educator in Shanghai for over 3 years. I love to work with children of different ages. I like to imply Friedrich Froebel's educational method, when children construct their understanding of the world through direct experience of it in play (free self-activity, creativity, social participation and motor expression). I have experience in both kindergarten and home education. I have an internet site with lots of interactive materials for learning foreign languages including educational games. I also send pdf files with useful grammar and words. I implement effective learning strategies in my lessons to help students concentrate on particular points of grammar and vocabulary. Even absolute beginners start making their own simple sentences. After a while their sentences get more complicated. The process may look like this: 1. They read. 2. They read books. 3. They read books every day. 4. They read interesting books every day. 5. They read interesting books every day when they come from work. 6. They read interesting books every day when they come from work unless they are tired. 7. They read interesting books every day when they come from work unless they are very tired. etc. (Of course, these sentences will be in Russian. ) I make worksheets which guide students to speak about particular topics. During the lessons my students and I may also read interesting texts in the internet, analyze their grammar structures, vocabulary and even discuss them. I always correct my students' mistakes when they speak or write. Russian grammar can be complicated sometimes, but if you know it well, you will not make critical mistakes. Correcting pronunciation mistakes is also very important.
