I have been a Piano teacher for over 25 years. This is something I am very passionate about and truly enjoy. My goal is to combine the students' interests with a program that I as a teacher find necessary to improve and develop technique and skills. I have also taught Piano to my kids, so I understand how important it is that Piano lessons are interesting and exciting. I studied at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. For many years I had my own music theater studio. I have a Hoffmann Grand Piano and prefer to give lessons at my home. However, I am flexible and can come to your house too.

I am teaching composition, piano, theory/harmony, & ear-training. I graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam as a contemporary composer. I am very open to the stylistic choices of the students and adapt the lesson to fit their particular needs or interests. When it comes to composition, I'm coaching anyone who needs advice as to how to write their own music, how to develop their compositional tools, song-writing skills, how to translate conceptual ideas into practical material. This also applies to children, who might want to get the basics of making their own song, either on an instrument or on the computer. My approach to teaching piano is highly influenced by my composition studies, both in stylistic diversity and in pedagogical methods. I find it important to teach piano in an overall way, one that incorporates ear-training but also theory together with playing. This way i find that the lesson becomes much more stimulating, and it also becomes much more easy to learn. I have experience teaching adults but also young kids between 4-15 years old. I believe it is never late to start learning music and that learning to make music is firstly a fun and then a challenging adventure.

My lessons are for anyone who wants to delve into electronic music & sound design. As an experienced composer, producer and sound designer I specialize in applying my broad knowledge and experience in the field of music & technology. Most successful electronic musicians combine different skills, such as working with music production software and hardware, playing a keyboard, recording and mixing, but also music theory and composition techniques. Because as an electronic musician you often have to deal with different instruments & other sound sources, my lessons are also very suitable if you want to learn to design your own sounds, not only to make music, but also as sound effects for videos or games, for example. Just like in my own professional practice, I teach the different aspects of electronic music production: - sound design ('sound design'), both analogue and digital - synthesis - composition techniques - software for music production, so-called 'DAWs' such as Ableton Live - hardware, such as modular synthesizers and effect units - production: recording and mixing of audio - performance of electronic music It is also possible to learn more about (Western and non-Western) music theory and the history of (electronic) music. From my background as a sound designer for games & film, much of me can share knowledge and experience in this. I bring 8 years of teaching experience to aspiring musicians of all ages. In our sessions, we'll embark on a comprehensive journey, honing in on essential aspects such as breathing techniques, instrument flexibility, and the art of improvisation. Whether you're a beginner or an intermediate player, we'll craft a personalized approach to elevate your skills, fostering not just technical proficiency but a deep love for the trumpet and the joy of musical expression.

During my singing lessons we’ll focus on your vocal technique to increase your vocal range, build vocal strength and stamina, improve your breathing and gain control over your instrument . We’ll work on multiple musical and vocal styles, sing high and low notes with ease, and most importantly, we’ll focus on finding your own voice while having fun doing it. All you need for these lessons is passion for singing and a song of your choice. During the first lesson we’ll discuss your goals and wishes and have a little try at a few vocal exercises. Next, we’ll work on the song of your choice with the focus on the things you’d like to improve. After the lesson you’ll receive a little summary of your strengths, focus points and a plan with how we’ll work to achieve your goals. There will always be a small homework or exercise you’ll need to work on at home to help you achieve what we planned. All levels are welcome, from beginners to advanced!

And if the students wish, I can help them to prepare for the ABRSM exams and competitions as well. But if the profile and the interests of the students goes on another way, I will give them all the tools they need to understand the language of music in depth, so they can find their own voice on the instrument. In that case the lessons will include contents of piano technique, score reading, applied harmony on the keyboard, composition, improvisation, musical arrangement, music production, recording techniques, jazz and pop music analysis and performance. Both programs can be combined depending on the focus and the profile of the student, or in case the student would like to go deeper in one of the previously mentioned subjects there is the opportunity to take an independent course of specialization on the desired topic. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician.
