Utopian Studies extends the notion from Thomas More's Utopia to the emergence of dystopian literature, highlighting the connection between fictionalized literary works and reality. The seminar is designed for students with advanced reading skills as the primary readings are mainly novels. Students are expected to carry out individual research. Further readings (journals, academic papers, etc) will be provided to support the discussion during the class. The courses are aimed at high school students, literature students, and adults learning French (FLE). Through courses tailored to their needs, learners will consolidate their French skills, either from a strictly linguistic or literary perspective. As for the language, we will be able to work on different aspects: grammar, conjugation, syntax rules, written and oral expression. More experienced learners, in rhetoric and at university, will be able to consolidate their skills in written expression and literary analysis. It is about progressing realistically and at the learner's own pace, and developing methods that allow for long-term improvement.

This class is for anyone who wishes to learn German from someone with native level skills. Whether it is to learn the basics as a beginner or to hone essay-writing skills. Can comfortably adapt to any curriculum (IB, A-Level, GCSE). Alternatively, if desired, I can help develop more analytical literary skills and give guidance on how to study German Literature. In both cases, I prioritise verbal dialogue as well as writing tasks, particularly for more advanced levels. I am very flexible when it comes to the structure of lessons/their intensity and feel it is usually best to discuss this on an individual basis.

In my class I will teach German through conversation and reading literature together. It is a very practical course that focuses on using the German language. The focus can also be on everyday conversations. I am happy to adapt to your needs. I would choose the literature according to your language skills and interests. I also offer tutoring for students who need help with homework or more general tutoring on grammar and vocabulary.

I am studying Social Anthropology and Politics at the University of Edinburgh. Classics are one of the biggest interests of mine; I started studying Latin and Ancient Greek languages and literature 6 years ago and I have been teaching for three years. I think studying these languages led me to be more aware of who I am as well as understand what is really worth. Latin (Ancient greek too) lessons consist of two different parts: grammar and literature. By studying grammar you are not going to just receive boring notions about the structure of the language, but you are going to deepen processes and rules that form Latin; with this method we are going to discuss about Latin and Greek mindset and then discuss about important themes studied by ancient people in literature. In these classes, which will be tailored according to age, experience, needs, and areas of interest, students will learn the basics of writing short stories, including flash fiction; poetry, including free verse and traditional forms such as Haiku and sonnets; and creative prose, including life writing or short creative essays. You can attend as many classes as you like, and together, we will build your skills and understanding of creative writing, including identifying the stories you want to tell. The classes will be a mix of presentation, 'warm-up' writing activities, discussion, reading and analysing key texts, main writing activities, and redrafting, editing and proof-reading your work. For those wishing to get published, there will be additional optional support available, such as detailed editing and mentoring advice, as well as hints and tips on developing as a writer. Holder of a Master's degree in Letters and endowed with a solid experience in private lessons, I provide French lessons for students wishing to: - consolidate their bases in grammar, spelling - improve their language skills (allophone students) - improve their speaking skills (conversation classes) -profect the written expression - prepare for ECR exams - prepare for the written examinations at the end of the studies (maturity, certificate of completion) - help with the writing of works of maturity (or other works of end of studies), of dissertation - work on argumentative texts - acquire a method to analyze literary texts - learn how to perform bibliographic research The course material is a Google Docs document that I create in which my explanations, possible links, exercises appear. By reading it regularly, progress will be faster. It can also be used in addition to other documents (files printed by school teachers and/or books) and has many advantages: automatic updating, downloadable on tablets and smartphones, simultaneous monitoring of what is writing. For help with writing: The objective is above all to acquire effective tools. The student will thus be able to learn to structure his ideas, argue coherently (and convincingly) and enrich his vocabulary. It is essential for me to have written work from the student between each lesson. For analyzes of oral literary texts: In order to optimize the time available (and to put ourselves in conditions closest to oral exams), we choose together an extract from a work that the student will have previously prepared before the lesson. This would take around 20 minutes at most, and ideally just a little before the meeting time. If necessary, I have the habit of taking a paragraph at random which would serve as a basis for analyzing a passage. For the corrections of end of studies work: so that the meeting with the student is at the most profitable, I ask him to send me his writings before the meeting. Apart from my presence with the student, any course involves a preparation time before and after the lesson, including the work that I correct. My goal is to design an individualized course, so I take the time to write detailed comments on corrected work or tips to ensure maximum success for everyone. For example, an editorial correction can easily be the subject of a detailed commentary of 4 typewritten pages. For adults (FLE): In order to optimally prepare the first ones, I take the initiative to inform myself in advance of their objectives / expectations. Whether to practice speaking in everyday life, the professional world or to practice oral presentations, I prepare either PPT or technical sheets in advance that I send by mail ( after booking on the website). The other alternative is to make a PV of the course that I send (or that I print). Giving importance to keeping a written record on the one hand to better memorize the topics covered, on the other hand to better assimilate the spelling. Of a general nature, a concrete situation that responds to the learner's needs is the starting point. From this situation, I address the essential grammatical points.
