I lived and worked in Italy for 15 years, I have an advanced Italian language state exam, I speak Italian with a mother tongue level. My first language was English, followed by German and Italian, and the last time I started learning a whole new language, French, was 1 year ago. Today, I also speak French fluently because I studied the language with perseverance and with the already proven language learning methods, practicing it every day. I think the key to learning a language is regular and continuous practice - unfortunately language takes revenge because if you don't use it your knowledge will wear thin. Being a pianist and a piano teacher, I already have lots of experience with teaching and pedagogical approach with the whole range of ages. Most important is that each course is based on the needs, interests and availability of the student. - The method is mainly what is called communicative, aimed at stimulating the student to speak immediately and put the focus on the functional aspect of the language. For beginners, I usually follow a specific program, I prepare a course and for each lesson I send students the files that I scan from the various books. Also the lessons can be essentially developed as conversations on specific subjects.

If you wish to brush up your Italian, resume a past series of lessons, or simply start from scratch learning Italian, this is the right lesson for you! I like to personalize each class/course according to the needs and goals of my students. My classes are focused on improving the student's communication skills. At beginner and lower intermediate levels, I prefer using a text book/ student book in the first part of the class. I usually use "Nuovissimo Progetto Italiano" and "Arrivederci" by Edilingua, or "Nuovo Espresso" and "Dieci" by Alma Publishing. For the second part of the lesson, I create engaging contents using original videos, press articles, extracts from blogs and social media, literary texts. If the students do not feel comfortable using Italian from scratch, I can switch to English, German, or Dutch. The course fee includes the correction of home assignments.
