I am a cellist, composer and pianist from Chicago currently residing in Graz, Austria! I received my Bachelors in Cello and Composition in the USA from Indiana University and am currently pursuing my masters in Cello Konzertfach at Kunst Universität Graz. I have years of experience working as a private cello, piano and composition teacher. I am used teaching all levels, and have certification to teach string students as young as six years old from Indiana University's String Academy Program. In addition to teaching instrumental and composition lessons privately, I also have experience teaching music theory and aural skills as a graduate teaching assistant. I adjust my teaching based on what you or your child would like to learn. From helping you learn to play a Bach cello suite, to Bohemian Rhapsody on piano, or get feedback and mentorship on your own compositions, I would be happy to play a part in your musical journey! :)

Currently, I am doing my Master studies at the Kunstuniversität, Graz. My activities reflect my passions in diverse musical styles including various settings from big band, symphonic music to contemporary, folk music and all things African. My latest musical associations is my with my quartet, inspired by different cultural and musical elements. Through the freedom of composition and improvisation.

In these lessons you will learn how to study and play the piano. You can ask for specific pieces that you really want to play, or we can start togheter a training with exercises and pieces. I also teach sightreading (how to read a score!), how to play with singers or other musicians and solfeggio. Regarding composition, I can give you the first base and teach how to approach, how to analyse a piece, and how to train the ear, and a bit of harmony and contrapoint.

I am holding a bachelor and a master degree in jazz singing from the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam. Besides being a singer and performer, my other passion is teaching and connecting to people through music. I am aiming to help my students finding their strengths and uniqueness and encouraging them how to overcome any challenges that come on their way. I believe that creating a safe and friendly environment always allow the students to easily unfold and deal with their barriers. For many people improvisation is a scary word and having to improvise in a group or band is an alarming prospect. However, this really does not need to be the case. As long as you have a basic knowledge of how to play your instrument you will be able to improvise. Once you know the principle of how chords are formed you will soon be improvising with ease. If you play a keyboard instrument you will be able to improvise your own pieces and be able to entertain your friends at a moments notice. On the other hand if you play in a band or a group you will be well equipped to do a real 'jam' session. Whether you play a single line instrument (flute, saxophone, trumpet, violin etc.) or keyboard instruments, this class is for you.

I am an electronic music producer with a Master’s degree in Music from the renowned Rockacademie in Tilburg, Netherlands, and I have a music studio in the heart of Amsterdam. Working under the name Malvae, I write, sing, produce, mix, master, and perform my own music, enabling me to provide the entire process under one roof.
