Maths for 7+, 8+, 11+ and 13+ exams, Functional Skills and GCSE Resits. CV writting and Job Interview help included.

I am a tenacious, fun loving and laid back mathematics teacher among members of staff. When I teach students I display high levels of intellect, a conscientious manner, a good sense of humour and give rewards not only sanctions. I enjoy using a diverse range of methods when I teach such as game based teaching, collaborative lessons, investigative approaches, connectionist teaching and topic based teaching whereby I relate maths to the everyday lives of students‘.

In addition, my teaching style encourages student participation and discussion. It is a mixture of facilitative teaching and instructor led lessons. It aims to ensure that each student is stretched to their limits and hence incorporates differentiation. To diversify my teaching, I encourage peer learning whereby students who have understood an idea in maths, teach their understanding of maths to those who are struggling to understand. When it comes to marking work, I get students to mark their own work as well as regularly marking their work myself and giving written feedback.

This is my belief about mathematics: “mathematics is the most beautiful subject in education and life: it is artistic, scientific and the language of the sciences. It is discovered, adapted and open to invention. Mathematics is profitable to the person who understands it well. It is a waterfall of knowledge: one never tires of washing themselves with mathematics“ (Timothy Wandera, 2018).

About Me

I would like to work as a Maths Tutor because I have 11 years teaching experience which has helped me develop into a passionate, diligent, and rounded professional. I have successfully completed a Post Compulsory Professional Graduate Certificate of Education in Mathematics with Numeracy from University College London (UCL). The certificate is equivalent to a Level 7 Masters Teaching degree and is from the world leading university for education.

I have an excellent track record educating pupils of different ages and abilities in mathematics within pressurised academic settings. My teaching expertise is both diverse and widespread and encompasses learning support, lesson planning, skill development, student relations, assessments, inspections, regulatory standards, child behaviour management and much more. I am a highly committed and creative mentor who uses modern and innovative teaching methods to successfully teach students of different ages and with different abilities. Methods include the use of investigative approaches to learning, games-based learning, collaborative learning, interactive lessons and encouraging student discussion as well as using topic-based teaching, whereby I link maths topics to the everyday lives of students. These methods to teaching help to make learning maths fun and enjoyable and have proven to bring about significant academic improvement compared to only using “old school” methods of teaching.

To conclude, I am an accomplished communicator with the natural ability to help and motivate pupils to improve results and succeed in exceeding their expectations for themselves. Dynamic, proactive, and highly driven, I am looking for a role that allows me to continue my career development as a maths teacher.

INTERESTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Competitions: I entered and progressed to the final of the UCL Business Game 2017 and the semifinal of the UCL Summer AdVenture Programme (2017).
CPD: I have attended and successfully completed the 2017 NANAMIC CPD conference and the UCL Advanced Mathematics Teaching in Early Career course. Passing this course means that I am capable of teaching A Level Mathematics. In 2022 I successfully completed the Money Saving’s Expert Academy of Money course from the Open University. The course is a free course that looks at topics related to personal finance such as budgeting and taxation, saving and investing and planning for retirement.
Reading: I enjoy reading a variety of books including those related to the education system, self-development, philosophy, religion, mental and physical health and finance. I have read many of the journal magazines from the Society for Education and Training (SET), Intuition. The journal magazines focus on new developments in FE Colleges as well as different ways of improving the teaching of post 16 learners. The focus being Maths and English using the latest research.
Sport: I play basketball 3-4 hours a week to keep fit

About Me: I am a Biomedical Engineering undergraduate student at King's College London. I have acquired a 9 in GCSE Maths (2022) an A in A-Level Normal Maths (2023/24) and an A in A-Level Further Maths (2024). My experience includes weekly mentoring to Year 7-9 students at my high school. I enjoy helping others get comfortable with Maths by practicing logical tricks to tackle any math problem. Lesson Plan: My tutor sessions will be tailored to each student, helping them with topics they struggle with. At the end of each week, we can review the topics covered to ensure the student has mastered those skills. My schedule and lesson plans are flexible and can follow the student's learning pace. Sessions will be hosted via Google Meet. Session Times: Relatively flexible during the summer, offering 60-minute sessions between 10 am and 8 pm any day of the week. Prices are the same for in-person and online. Location: My sessions will be online but can be in person if the student is near West Ealing, London or King Campuses.

Private online mathematics lessons - Qualified and experienced teacher
I am a qualified and experienced mathematics tutor. Graduated from the Free University of Brussels in 2011, I started my career by teaching remedial courses in different schools in Brussels. I then specialized in individual academic support by following educational training at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I have been giving private mathematics lessons daily for over ten years. The students who follow my private lessons benefit from personalized support. The first session is devoted to an in-depth assessment of the student's mathematical knowledge. The objective is to detect its weak points and understand their origin in order to adapt my courses to its needs. I develop a tailor-made remediation program for each of my students aimed at filling each of their gaps. Over the course of the sessions, the student builds a solid foundation for learning and regains self-confidence. At the same time, I help him acquire a work methodology that allows him to gradually become autonomous in his studies. I have a perfect knowledge of the mathematics program of the College and the High School (from the Sixth to the Terminale). During my formative years, I studied and developed many techniques that make it easier to learn math. The strength of my pedagogical approach lies in my ability to explain in a simple way everything that the student finds complicated. I am passionate about this job because it gives me the opportunity to guide dropout students on the path to success. It is a real pleasure to see them evolve and come to terms with the fantastic world of mathematics. I provide my private lessons in Limoges (at the student's home) or remotely (online via the internet). My distance learning courses take place on an interactive online whiteboard. This board is specially designed to promote student/teacher interaction on the internet. Thanks to this educational tool, my online courses are as effective as home courses. The student only needs an internet connection and a computer, tablet, or smartphone to take advantage of it.

Salah Eddine
Math tutoring for high school students
As a teaching professional, I have always enjoyed sharing my knowledge. My goal is to provide quality education. I am aware that some topics may seem complex, but often this is simply the result of an inadequate explanation by the teacher. With me, you will discover a real interest in the material! We strive together to achieve academic excellence, overcoming the shortcomings and difficulties encountered by your child. Studies will become a pleasant experience for him. In addition to the courses, I can also help with school orientation, identifying their preferences and highlighting the advantages and benefits of a fulfilling educational ambition. The sessions generally take place according to the following stages: 1️⃣ The first sessions are devoted to the assessment of the student's level in order to detect existing gaps. 2️⃣ Next, we create a personalized plan to address these gaps, including the number of hours of work needed, specific areas to focus on, and appropriate training and development exercises. 3️⃣ We stay in constant contact with the student's class teacher, to keep up to date with the latest requirements and ensure a consistent approach. 4️⃣ Subsequently, I provide exams similar to those that are likely to be asked in class, to prepare the student effectively. 5️⃣ Upon request, I write a regular report, usually monthly, to keep parents informed of their child's progress throughout their course. I adapt my methodology according to the specific needs of each student, thus offering them a personalized and adapted work approach. In addition, I offer crash courses for students preparing for the start of the school year, allowing them to start the year well prepared, with a solid lead on the school curriculum. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. I will be happy to help you.
