I have been teaching for more than six years now and I managed to come up with an easy and approachable method for anyone who wants to learn the ways of this beautiful instrument. I started playing the guitar at the age of twelve years old, thru high school and that eventually led me to the National Conservatory of Bucharest, Romania, where I refined my playing and begun teaching. I am going to encourage you every step of the way with much needed advice on the right technique, score reading, so that you quickly gain confidence in your playing. I put a high importance on technique and theory because these two aspect, as well as your daily practice, are what will make you have fast progress and thus loads of fun along the way.

Learn how to use every single part of your voice and to sing everything you've always wanted to sing - all in a healthy way that actually feels good! I have a background in classical music and with this foundation, you will learn how to utilize your entire body in an aligned way that helps you find your true singing voice! We will explore sounds and sensations in our bodies, engaging different muscles groups in our abdomen and back, breathing exercises, and making various shapes with our mouths to change our sound. All of this (and more) falls within the larger concept of Vocal Technique, which every good singer needs to keep their voice healthy for many years to come. I will ask you the goals you wish to achieve, or we can figure them out together, so that you can see and feel real progress happening within your body and voice and understand how to practice and better your vocal technique at home too! We will also cover music theory basics where needed so that you become skilled in reading and sight-reading sheet music as well. I can give lessons in classical music, but also in more modern music or improvisation. About me: I'm Nil! I am 25, from Barcelona (Spain). I obtained my bachelor's degree in performance and music pedagogy at the Prince Claus Conservatoire, Groningen. Now I have graduated from the Master's in Classical Music at the Royal Conservatoire (The Hague). During my studies I also gained experience with professional orchestras (Residence Orkest and Noord Nederlands Orkest) and I played in semi-professional and amateur orchestras (as a soloist). During my master's degree I did a Master's in Research in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). I started teaching when I was 18 and then continued teaching. I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts. I give private piano lessons for all levels and styles (classical, jazz, Latin, new age, pop...), as well as music theory, composition and improvisation lessons. From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.

I have over 12 years of teaching experience and I have been working as a Professional Pianist for 7 years now, in 8 different countries (Switzerland, Austria, Iceland, Spain etc.) and on Luxury Cruise Ships (Worldwide). The only requirement is the willingness to spend some time at the piano. I conduct my lessons using a combination of 4 cameras for optimum visibility, and a quality microphone which my students find very helpful. This allows them to see a very clear visual demonstration alongside my verbal explanation. I can confidently say that Online Lessons are the same as In-Person Lessons. CURRICULUM I do not believe one method works for all students. I have used many different lesson books and resources over the years. For beginners I like to use Alfred method books for basics concepts and for Classical and Jazz Piano technique I like to use ABRSM books (grade 1-8). If my student feels that they can learn better from another books, I am glad to adapt my teaching strategies to their needs. Along with the lesson books below, I use a lot of supplemental materials based on the students' interests. I also aim to teach their favorite songs as soon as possible. I like to clearly explain and demonstrate piano technique. In this way, the students are able to apply the information on similar passages from all genres of music. Both programs can be combined depending on the focus and the profile of the student, or in case the student would like to go deeper in one of the previously mentioned subjects there is the opportunity to take an independent course of specialization on the desired topic. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician.
