I am a certified language teacher (NL-ENG) with many years of experience in schools, adult education and companies, and consider me a 'language desire architect'. Together we open doors in a creative way, we bring the world a piece of 'on your doorstep'. And, who knows, in the near future you will have a (linguistic) lump richer!

The course will be adapted to the student's goals, either help with academic classes or to develop speaking, listening, and reading skills. Improve your English with one on one theory classes and practice. I have a TOEFL certificate and an American education. I speak French and Arabic.

Hello, I'm Gemma, I'm 26 and I live in Leuven, Belgium. I am originally from Tuscany, Italy. I'm used to tutoring, usually students, in foreign languages and humanistic subjects. It would be a pleasure for me to teach you Italian in a way that's tailored to your needs. We can start with a format and change it on the go, depending on what suits you best and the specific areas you want to improve. The class will be structured around: grammar, real-life conversations, listening to videos/music, cultural insights, and practical exercises. I offer classes for two different groups: - Young adults preparing for TOEFL/GRE with sessions focused on solving exercises from the exams and improving the student's skills - Academic English for researchers and people in academia, where we focus on methods, format and language of academic texts. Sessions could be focused on review the student paper A little about myself. I am a Researcher. I lived in the USA twice, as an exchange Student at MIT for a year and as a J1 worker at McDonald's for 3 months. I scored 103 and 112 in the two times I did the TOEFL exam, and I scored at the 99% math percentile in my GRE score. I was born in Brazil, and I am a native Portuguese speaker. I have lived in Leuven for five years, so we can communicate in basic Dutch.

As a native English speaking American, I aim to improve my student's breadth of grammar and understanding of the English language through one-on-one and group lessons, advancing from any level. Having spent all my life in the United States, I also can train my students on the American vernacular and culture. I have a minor in English Literature from a college in Chicago.

- As for the lessons. The lessons are about mathematics of secondary education. More specifically, I will assist in the theoretical processing of mathematics as its application (the exercises). In addition, I will provide additional study material (aids, schedules, ...) if necessary. - Way of handling. I would like to have an overview in advance of the study material, the tests or tasks in which certain problems are visible, .... This way I can prepare the lessons in advance and focus on the problem. In addition, I can estimate / determine his / her level in this way. I try, in a simple way and for the student in an understandable way, to explain the course in a different way so that this is clear to the student. Afterwards I like to enjoy the results. - Why am I doing this? Math is a passion of mine and for me there is nothing more fun than sharing my passion. Unfortunately, my love for mathematics is not part of my studies and that is why I like to do this as a hobby and as an extra income. Of course I work professionally. - Experiences? I love nothing more than tutoring my fellow students about the subject matter. This is appreciated by them. Of course I also have experience in tutoring mathematics of both primary and secondary education. - Who am I? My name is Arina and I study law. I am 25 years old, live and live in a room in Leuven. In secondary school itself, I had a traumatic experience in the first and second year of secondary school for the subject of mathematics. I found it very interesting but I just couldn't understand it. During these years I had the same teacher who did not teach me the material in a way that was, for me, correct. I specialize in effective communication skills. With english as my native language, i also teach presentation skills, build motivation and look for ways to bring out the best side in my students. I have been a trainer for IELTS, a speaker and mentor at UNODC, and an AIESEC teacher for softskills. This class is a base for people aspiring to be brought to their best capabilities while being emotionally hindered, and the class also promotes the accurate use of english and effective communication. This class is aimed at individuals (either kids, students or adults) who wish to learn it. You can already know basics and would like to continue learning more further on or you are starting from scratch and have a long way in front to pursue. By this class I would like to immerse you into English language environment. For the teaching purposes, throughout the classes, I will use different highly-rated textbooks of local editions, effective YouTube channels, interesting articles. I will cover main functional areas of English grammar and vocabulary within different areas and will make sure that you start speaking since the first class already, since Practice Makes Perfect and English is not so difficult as it may seem at first! The goals, needs, expectations will be discussed in person with every student and adapted towards personality. The program and classes content will also depend on the prior mentioned factors. I currently work as a private language teacher in Belgium and I have a good level of English. As I am not a native speaker, I do not give advanced lessons. People from any age, including kids, can follow my English lessons for levels A1, A2 and B1.

Economics classes for University level students will be based on student's needs (some suggestions: Econometrics, Microeconomics, Quantitative Economics). For school students, it can involve advanced learning or basic Economic knowledge (aligned to student's needs). English classes will involve writing and speaking practice (based on the student's existing knowledge). I tend to explain things pretty well. I always try to assign homework for further practice. Times can be discussed with me and I do accommodate students based on mutual availability.

I have a master's and bachelor's degree in history and am currently completing a second master's in social and cultural anthropology. As the official Faculty Proofreader for the Institute of Philosophy at the KU Leuven, I have developed a deep understanding of the common struggles both professors and the wider student body face with respect to academic writing. Whether it be formal and linguistic errors or stylistic, structural, and argumentative issues, I gathered practical tools students can systematically employ to improve their academic writing—skills which coincide with the demands of a tutoring job. I’ve designed this course as the ultimate guide to academic writing, but that’s not it. Given my experience in debate clubs in Leuven, Brussels, and Munich, as well as in hosting highly successful discussion groups with students of all stripes, I can also teach you how to deliver fantastic presentations and get your point across in the most articulate manner. As a polyglot, I can give you examples in Arabic, Farsi, Urdu/Hindi, Punjabi, and German, so if you speak any of these languages, I’ll make sure you have an easier time learning English with me.
