    How to make a film: independent and arthouse filmmaking

    Independent Filmmaking is now in its golden age. With prosumer cameras and iPhones, everyone can become a filmmaker. However, you need to know technical skills, storytelling techniques, visual aesthetics
    and editing tools in order to craft and finalize your film.
    This course focuses on independent filmmaking and arthouse film. It will equip you with the necessary tools to develop a unique voice amidst the clamor of mainstream cinematic conventions. Participants are guided through the intricacies of storytelling, cinematography, and post-production techniques, fostering a profound understanding of the craft.
    I am an independent filmmaker and experienced university teacher and I will not only share with you my professional knowledge, but I will also guide you in the development of your own film!

    For this course, you can use a film camera, a photocamera that makes videos, your phones, or even no camera at all (for example, you can create films using photographs or archival footage). It's up to you!

    I am a professional visual artist and researcher. I work internationally in collaboration with universities, art museums and art organizations. I develop multimedia projects using photography, film and video installations. I publish artist's book and I work as referent for independent art projects and exhibitions.
    I love to teach and share my passion about art, photography and new media. I am a very committed teacher and I make my students work a lot, in order to better develop their skills and enhance their creative potential.

    Photography has become the main visual language of contemporary times. With this course, you can learn the skills to become a successful photographer in a number of creative indutries. You’ll gain an excellent grounding in photographic fine art practice while considering industry and commercial approaches across fashion, advertising, editorial photography, art direction, picture editing and academia. Specialising in your field of interest, you’ll develop as a creative visual practitioner who can engage with contemporary issues.
    Today's world is dominated by visual images, and the creative opportunities of digital photography make this field accessible to everyone. Through a series of specially designed theory and practice workshops, you will learn about historical and contemporary photography practices, and the key theoretical frameworks used to situate them. You’ll be introduced to specialist photographic skills and creative methodologies in a supportive environment, to develop your curiosity and creativity. You’ll be supported through tutorials to develop and research your own photographic ideas in relation to project briefs and experiment with the technical skills to develop your personal position as a photographer. Photographic skills such as Production, Post Production and Presentation (online and offline) will be taught in this course. As an internationally renowned artist and visual art researcher, I can introduce you to the most advanced trends and styles in contemporary photography.
