Music lessons: Târ and Setâr/Persian musicBeginner level :
Expected duration: approximately 12 and 18 months / 1 hour of lessons per week
1. 3 or 4 music theory sessions containing instrument structure and Western notation (with a brief historical explanation of why we use this notation system today).
2. Start with the first and second music conservatory books which emphasize precise execution of notes and rhythm.
Concrete listening exercises: Before explaining a musical concept, students are encouraged to listen to suggested examples of a specific form, genre, or style and express their analysis in class.
3. Teaching correct posture and how to focus on body and breathing during play.
4. Beginning of improvisation exercises based on the rhythms of Persian poems: At this level, we do not use Western notation and we rely solely on the repetitive rhythms of the poems and melodic creativity.
Intermediate level :
Expected duration: approximately 2 and 3 years / 1 or 2 hours of lessons per week
1. Teaching studies and technical pieces with emphasis on the use of Western notation and paying attention to verbal points that are not included in the notation (At this level, students should not have any difficulty reading notes).
2. The beginning of teaching Radif (practical repertoire of Persian music) without using notation and entirely orally.
3. Continue the listening exercises to understand the difference between modes and concepts related to Iranian music.
4. Memorize the pieces, perform them based on memory and precision of sentence logic and modal precision.
5. Improvisation exercises based on Iranian music modes. The student is asked to make musical sentences after having learned each mode (according to the logic that he has heard and learned in the pieces).
6. The first concert and professional recording experiences of the pieces taught with the advice of the teacher.
Higher level :
Expected duration: approximately 2 and 3 years / 1 or 2 hours of lessons per week
1. Achieve a comprehensive understanding of the modal system in Persian music through the interpretation and analysis of the Iranian musical repertoire.
2. Beginning of composition exercises based on the rhythmic and modal system of Iranian music.
3. Teaching the principle and methods of modulation in improvisation in three stages:
• Listen, memorize and accurately perform the improvisations of the ancient masters.
• Make a collage of phrases from the master's recorded improvisations.
• Create pieces based on the common logic of improvisation in Iranian music.
Additional explanation:
- This planning is a completely personal method and its auditory and oral aspects are different from the academic method.
- As is evident, my teaching style is based on the knowledge and ability to use European music theory while preserving the traditional and historical characteristics of Iranian music. I have two reasons for using and emphasizing learning Western notation: first, it has become the common way to write and record our music today. Substituting any other method will cause problems for the student. Second, using Western notation speeds up the training process (especially at the elementary level). From experience, the training time of those who have only been trained in the traditional and oral way is longer, and in addition, in the oral way there is no analysis in the way to train.
- Traditional and oral teachings are anchored in the concepts of Iranian mysticism. The use and reference to Persian poems, the discussion of ethics, appreciation and reliability of the artist are all positive points of this method, which I also try to address in my teaching.

Solfège and musical culture (History, analysis ...).Former student of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, editor-in-chief of the magazine Avant-Scène Opéra, editor for the Philharmonie du Luxembourg, I offer you the following lessons.
Music theory and musical culture are essential tools for understanding and making music.
Music theory, because it allows you to master the technical tools that allow you to make music, is fundamental for anyone who wants to progress in their instrument.
Musical culture makes it possible to understand what goes on in music beyond the technique. From this knowledge (established over a lot of listening) we can develop an interpretation and go beyond technical issues.
For music theory lessons only, I constantly articulate the different musical parameters (rhythm, intonation, ear, etc.) and draw my training from the repertoire, which has the advantage of making music from the start. Small technical exercises also allow you to focus on one or the other parameter, but the perspective remains mainly that of a global approach placing the music at the center.
As far as musical culture is concerned, I use each of my professional experiences (Musicologist, playwright and music critic) to transmit my knowledge to you.
Thus we will approach the history of music through works (history of forms and languages), interpretation and places of music.
It is mainly through the study of documents (texts of musical criticism, iconography, scores, musical instruments...) that transmission takes place. Knowledge completes and informs this documentary study. Finally the study of document and the erudition have only one goal: to enlighten the listening of the works which I place at the heart of my teaching.

Beginner to Advanced Lessons for Guitar Players for all agesAfter dedicating 14 years to mastering the guitar, I've developed a comprehensive understanding of guitar playing, encompassing both foundational techniques and advanced music theory. In these lessons, I'll be sharing the wealth of knowledge I've accumulated over this extensive period of learning.
I will be covering a broad range of guitar techniques, including fingerpicking, strumming techniques, major and minor chords, power chords, barre chords, riffs, scales, finger warm-ups, practising any song of your choice, string bending, pull-offs, hammer-ons, harmonics, strumming patterns, and slides. All are provided with diagrams etc.
For music theory, I will begin by covering the fundamentals, including notes, strings, and the musical 12-note chromatic scale alphabet on the guitar. As students progress, we will delve into more advanced topics such as tones, semitones, chord progressions, circle of fifths, scale formulas and chord terminology. Additionally, we will explore concepts like consonance and dissonance and pitch practice to develop relative pitch. (You have to be born with perfect pitch but you can learn relative pitch with practise!)
Then advancing to jazz theory, we'll explore; jazz scale formulas, jazz chord progressions, swing techniques, major and minor 7th chords, major and minor 9th chords, dominant, augmented, half-diminished, diminished, sus2 and sus4 chords. And then jazz scales and the art of re-harmonising a song (changing the chords to jazz chords). All music theory will be intertwined with guitar practice as both can't be done without the other!
One observation I've made while learning guitar through lessons is that information is often doled out incrementally, making it feel like a breadcrumb trail. Guitar knowledge and skills seem to be closely guarded and usually gatekept unless actively sought out. I strongly believe that the extensive knowledge I've acquired over 14 years of playing should be fruitfully shared in a more comprehensive and accessible manner, of course while being tailored to the pace of the students. In essence, I'm convinced that the depth of my understanding I've gained could be effectively conveyed and learnt within a two-year timeframe without including the time it takes to master the skill with practice, of course, I'd like to make it easier for people to learn the guitar and the theory behind it.
I have also graduated with a distinction for my Music Performance and Production UAL Level 3 Course and a distinction in Fashion Communication which included my music playing at Central Saint Martins. I also have experience teaching guitar in London and Bristol before.
The lessons will be taught in English so practising your English with me is also a plus, a foundational knowledge of English is required to take the lessons.

Electric/classical/pop/blues/jazz/other guitar lessonsThe guitar is a very versatile instrument that allows you to learn many songs to play by the fire as well as more complex pieces in order to improve your technique to be able to play in concert for example. The goal of my course is to provide a first approach to this instrument or to deepen certain basics by following the personal objectives of the musician. Music must remain a leisure activity so the lessons must be interesting and take place in a good mood. We could learn improvisation as well as the execution of existing pieces or even composition.

I like to work a lot on breathing which I consider to be a main element and on technical ease.
Works on flexibility, dexterity, and expansion of the range.

Additional Information:
It is important for your teacher to match you musically (unless otherwise, if you want to fill in gaps, or discover a new genre). That's why I present myself in a few lines, so that you get an idea of the kind of bassist that I am:
I started bass more than ten years ago, I first discovered the instrument alone (self-taught training).

Currently, I play in several bands: a jazz / funk band and a jazz / rock band.
