I am an experienced opera singer and vocal teacher with a profound academic background and a rich history of working with some of the most renowned figures in the world of music. I earned my Master’s Degree with honours from the National Music Academy of Ukraine. I also had the privilege of taking lessons with Seth Riggs, one of the world’s leading vocal coaches, who has worked with famous artists such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Barbra Streisand. I have further refined my skills at prestigious institutions, including the Vienna Opera Academy in Austria, the Georg Solti Accademia in Castiglione Della Pescaia, Italy, where I was mentored by legendary mezzo-soprano Grace Bumbry and celebrated soprano Barbara Frittoli. Additionally, I finished my training at the Lotte Lehmann Akademie in Perleberg, Germany, working with world-class voice teachers and conductors from some of the leading opera houses around the world. I have performed for Hollywood celebrities in Italy and for Ukrainian presidents and foreign diplomats at political events in Kyiv, Ukraine. I have taken part in prestigious music festivals, including the Morellino Classical Festival in Tuscany, Italy, and the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music in Austria. I also participated in the first-year GSA program for alumni in Castiglione Della Pescaia, Italy, and the Solti-Peretti program in Venice, Italy. I have thoroughly studied all the esteemed vocal literature in five languages, which, along with my studies in vocal technique, allows me to provide a deeply informed and effective approach to singing. As a teacher, I believe in accelerating the development of my students. While it typically takes 10 years to become a professional singer, I achieve the same results in just 2 years, helping my students develop their skills much faster than the usual approach. I work with a wide range of vocal issues, including: • Trouble with range, breath control, tone production • Vocal strain, voice fatigue, and issues with high notes • Psychological difficulties related to performing and using the voice • Difficulty with transitions, voice cracks, and loss of voice during speech or singing • Problems with pitch accuracy, foreign accents in foreign languages, and resonance • And many other challenges of any level of severity. I currently teach students who are well-known jazz performers in New York and along the entire eastern American coast. Additionally, I provide voice training to Protestant pastors and kirtanists who have become well-known singers in their communities in the USA, Canada, and India. If you feel you’re struggling with your voice or technique, I can help you. Together, we will address your challenges and make your vocal dreams a reality. Let’s make your voice extraordinary!

I speak with with my students before our first lesson to understand their background, goals, and answer any questions before we begin. For the first lesson, I always ask you bring something you like to sing and then as we progress we decide what repertoire makes the most sense. I start by explaining how the voice works: our body as our instrument. I then introduce individualized technique exercises to fit the student's need. Our work will include breath, resonance, vocal fold closure, vowels, range, and much more. Interested in growing and strengthening your vocal talent? Internationally acclaimed teacher, tenor, and Tony Award Winner, Garcia, has opened a voice studio here in Philadelphia, and teaches a range of styles, including Classical, Musical Theater, Jazz, Rock, Pop, and Folk. Mr. Garcia is a protege of famed teacher, Bill Schuman. Other notable teachers have included Dr. Stephen King at Rice University, and Dr. Pattye Johnstone at the University of North Texas. Having worked with singers, coaches, and conductors all over the world, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his work with artists. "In my work with singers, I consider myself an intuitive pedagogue and technician above all else. No two singers are the same, and I believe in a tailored approach to each individual. I have studied and been taught in the Italian Bel Canto school of singing, and believe that the goal of vocal study is to help the singer become aware of and release any habits that are counter-intuitive to healthy, natural production. Many singers come to me for vocal rehabilitation and realignment. Good singing is actually born of quite simple foundational techniques, and in lessons we work to move toward the natural expression of the voice. We start with the foundational tenets of technique: support mechanism, palate and laryngeal position, tongue and jaw relaxation, and then move through the vowels, assuring all is clean, streamlined, and natural. Singing should be joyful, not stressful, and when a singer has a solid technique to rely on, they can relax and set about the joy of full artistic expression."
