Yin yoga has its origins in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Taoist philosophy and its postures are very close to classical yoga as we know it. Yin yoga postures are performed gently and mindfully. They work in depth on the physical, mental, emotional and energetic levels through stretching and deep breathing. Each posture is held for a certain time in order to bring relaxation and appeasement. On the physical level: Yin yoga works on the deep tissues such as the fascias (envelopes of the organs and muscles), the ligaments, the cartilages or the tendons. It therefore allows a release of tension in the body. Yin yoga is excellent for joint health and mobility. Thus the back, hips and pelvis remain mobile and healthy. It also improves breathing and circulation in the body. This practice is also excellent for the heart, lungs, digestive system, kidneys and intestines. It helps strengthen the joints. On the mental and emotional level: breathing and long postures help channel thoughts and bring more inner peace and calm. Yin yoga could be considered as "mindfulness meditation", because each posture is performed with the greatest attention, the greatest gentleness and the greatest respect for its own limits. We never force, we let it happen. On the energy level: this practice allows the recirculation of energy in the body. It has a very beneficial effect on good circulation in the meridians and the chakras. Finally, yin yoga is perfect in addition to more intense physical activities. So many are the benefits... RYT-200 Yoga Instructor; Pre-Natal & Post-Natal Yoga; Reiki Practitioner Peaceful Mind, Active Life; Positive Energy, Powerful Synergy Like a lot of people, I used to work 9-6 in an office in the luxury retail industry. Day in day out in the busy city of Hong Kong, same routine over and over again. Stress was not getting any less and burden was not getting any lighter. I started questioning myself - What was I fighting for? What are the goals in life? Some might have already figured it out, some are still trying to find out, but for sure everyone is different. I started practicing yoga since 2012. When I first started, it was certainly not my favourite. I was always very impatient, fast-paced, easily stressed and agitated; so yoga for me was too calm, too slow and too still. For the very same reason, I decided to continue and overcome these weaknesses of mine and find balance in myself. Throughout these years of practice, initially I was very focused on the body postures, always wanted to achieve the crazy and advanced-looking poses; and gradually later on, I was being more aware of the importance of state of mind and peacefulness, because yoga is about unity of mind and body. I became certified as a RYT-200 Yoga Instructor in 2016. Yoga stresses on both physical and mental wellness: It is a balance of yin and yang - strength and flexibility; as well as focus of breaths and control of mind. I have tapped into the world of yoga, and I have been lucky to learn from wise and inspiring individuals. Having the chance to share those lessons and experiences with people around fills me with joy. Everyone could use more yoga in their lives, so I hope to see you on the mat soon. Namaste.

Trusted teacher: Kundalini yoga is different from other types of yoga commonly practiced in the West, in that it is less focused on postures and more geared towards self-awareness, meditation, mantra chanting and breathing. Kundalini yoga is therefore a set of powerful techniques that allows us to focus and fully enjoy our being, our soul and our environment. Thus, these techniques make it possible to:  deepen breathing;  become aware of the meridians and energy centers in the body (the chakras);  strengthen the nervous system;  purify the blood flow. The ultimate goal of this tool is to balance the sensations of the physical body with the mind and soul. While Kundalini yoga remains a spiritual practice, it has no religious appeal and can be applied by everyone, with adaptations for some people. It is particularly suitable for a public having and facing psychological difficulties (anxiety and trauma). Typically, a Kundalini session lasts 1.5 hours. It is divided into 5 parts: - chanting of the opening mantras - warm-up with a sequence of postures with breathing exercises - sequence of kundalini (kriya) which generally focus on a specific theme - relaxation - meditation (accompanied by mantra or / and breathing and concentration exercises) In addition, “Vinyasa” simply means “sequence of postures”. This type of yoga is based on Hatha yoga, which means the physical side of yogic philosophy. Indeed, the goal of yoga practice is to enter a state of meditation, which is facilitated by focusing on the body at first. In the West, since the spread of yoga at the beginning of the 20th century, Hatha yoga has mainly spread. Vinyasa uses the basic postures performed in Hatha yoga, chaining them together to enter into a kind of "dance", "flow". On a physical level, this type of yoga:  strengthens the heart rate;  works all the muscles of the body;  improves posture by strengthening the spine. On a more subtle level, Vinyasa allows you to:  stimulate the 7 main chakras, starting from the base to go up to the crown;  release the energies produced by the body during the session;  release a general feeling of well-being by gently stretching the muscles. A Vinyasa session lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. It can be divided into 3 parts: - stretches to gently open and warm the body; - sequence of postures (declined by sun salutations, starting with anchoring postures to gently raise the spine); - relaxation to channel the work of the muscles.
