I have been a Piano teacher for over 25 years. This is something I am very passionate about and truly enjoy. My goal is to combine the students' interests with a program that I as a teacher find necessary to improve and develop technique and skills. I am Tijmen, 22 years old, with an infectious passion for music. I started playing drums when I was 8, and when I turned 16 I taught myself several instruments. My classes are for students of all ages, and levels from beginner to intermediate. During the lessons I ensure that you can work independently and motivated between lessons with exercises that I adjust to your level and learning goal. For many people improvisation is a scary word and having to improvise in a group or band is an alarming prospect. However, this really does not need to be the case. As long as you have a basic knowledge of how to play your instrument you will be able to improvise. Once you know the principle of how chords are formed you will soon be improvising with ease. If you play a keyboard instrument you will be able to improvise your own pieces and be able to entertain your friends at a moments notice. On the other hand if you play in a band or a group you will be well equipped to do a real 'jam' session.
