Creative/ Drama Writing Tuition (available to students of any experience level)
Is there an idea you can't quite get off the ground, or are you curious about how to foster an underlying voice? I'm proud to offer tuition in the realm of creative writing, be it for the page, stage or screen, to people at all stages of their artistic journey. My personal tuition philosophy means that every session is curated for your individual needs and interests, and I will consistently request feedback to ensure no time is wasted on material you don't find enriching. After graduating from the University of Warwick with a first class degree in English and Theatre, and securing one of eight places for writers at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School this year, I want to extend my passion into helping others discover their linguistic flair; tackling the whole spectrum from crafting character, to constructing dialogue and beyond. I've written a dozen plays in the last year alone, so consider myself well acquainted with the pitfalls and complex methodologies of this often tricky art. I hope to use these classes to help you develop more reliable writing practices and overcome the dreaded writer's block once and for all.

About Me
I am a playwright from South Wales, currently located in Bristol. My subject is not only a vocation, but a lifelong passion, and I feel it is imperative to offer help within this field to the young people who require it as part of their educational journey. In my method, every student is approached as a complex, autonomous individual, and it is my job to curate a personal lesson plan that best fits their needs. As well as addressing the basics of essay writing, comprehension and language analysis, it is also my hope to foster a genuine interest in the set texts of the syllabus where perhaps there was not one before.Education
I have a first class BA in English and Theatre studies from the University of Warwick, and am currently studying my for my Masters at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Additionally, I possess five A-Levels (all grade A or higher under the Welsh grading system), and 14 GCSES. I have trained with the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, and completed a foundation year at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. I also possess a diploma from LAMDA.Experience / Qualifications
I have tutored private clients successfully since the age of 18, and continued to do so during my time at University. During my second year, I taught in a centre outside Birmingham for young boys permanently excluded from the public teaching system. As a graduate of the University of Warwick, I am proud to offer excellent quality tuition in both English Language and Literature at all key stages. I tailor my lesson plan and educational approach to every individual student, ensuring that each receives a session curated for their needs. I specialise in early modern texts, specifically Shakespeare, but can cover any texts on today's syllabus more than comfortably, encouraging my students to develop their own understanding and personal interpretations, then helping them translate these into the essay-question format eloquently. My creative writing is ratified to a professional standard by the Old Vic Theatre school, a worldwide recognised institution where I currently study alongside just seven other writers. I can comfortably tutor all aspects of the English Language course, including descriptive/creative writing, formal writing, travel writing and comprehension.

It is a matter of combining improvements in form with improvements in substance. For this, the sessions can for example take place according to your needs as follows:
a) Comments / proposals on the text that you will offer me b) Writing exercises based on a statement.
c) A series of precise and pragmatic recommendations and their application through style exercises.
Whether it is a novel, an essay, song lyrics, various texts, a biography or simply a report for professional or school purposes, it is about offering you elements personalized pedagogy:
- Study your text
- Build text, song lyrics etc
- Calmly polish the style
- Research and develop your lexical fields
- Differentiate between writing for oneself and writing for others
All this by combining theory and practice: Writing work from exercises then as part of a personal project.
During the sessions, you are guided in your writing project. The trainer accompanies you and teaches you the preparation method, gives you writing tools and helps you work on your style and your imagination.
The objective is multiple, including a reflection on one's own literary path, an introduction to the basic tools of style work and exercises on description.

- Identify your writing path.
- Mobilize your imagination.
- Learn and master the practical writing tools.
- Broaden its reflection on creation and professional and personal writing.
- Create and develop one or more projects.
Trained in a European Grande Ecole & Ivy League University in the United States, specialized and has been working in Europe and North America for more than 16 years in this field, in reputable international institutions , also intervening in forums and conferences.
- Locations: Geneva - Lausanne - Friborg - Neuchâtel - Montreux - Basel - Sion - Sierre - Morges - Bienne. But currently and until further notice, only by videoconference in accordance with national recommendations on Covid.
These sessions, for which you have asked me, also seem to be perfectly unanimous since they arouse a certain enthusiasm (and a certain enthusiasm). Indeed, they have the advantage of face-to-face sessions (ex: quality of the interaction), without its disadvantages (ex: loss of travel time) with additional advantages (ex: the entire session transcribed in writing on the chat). That is why, at your request, I continue to offer this option.
À la carte: evaluated and adapted to each personality.

Creative Writing for Advanced Writers! Refine Your Story and Let Your Voice Be Heard!Writing is an individual and vulnerable process. When we creatively write, we are telling stories, and the effectiveness of each sentence affects how readers interpret our stories and us as writers. I know better than anyone how vulnerable it can be to share your writing. I also have an intimate understanding of the technical writing skills required to keep readers engaged and to get published.
In this class, you'll learn how to:
-Structure stories and paragraphs with appropriate beats and pacing.
-Build complex, fully realized characters.
-Write engaging, realistic dialogue in novel or screenwriting format.
-Hook readers to the page using pacing techniques and red herrings.
I can provide story and character consultation and feedback on your current projects.
This is an advanced class. Please do not sign up for this class unless you have experience in creative writing. This may be a good class for a writer who has just finished their first novel and is looking for advice on editing and story consultation. It also may be a good opportunity for writers who have finished novels or scripts and are looking for advice on a new project. I also offer beginner and intermediate creative writing classes
I am a published author and produced screenwriter. Don't miss your chance to take one of my classes. You and your writing skills won't regret it.

English Classes for Primary School to GCSE Level StudentsI am a tutor with 7+ years of experience teaching at a variety of levels from primary school to GCSE level. I teach English Language, English Literature, ESOL (English for speakers of other languages), Maths, and Creative Writing. I have taught students both in person and remotely, planning lessons using virtual presentations, activities and resources both in the UK and abroad.
I believe the most successful results come from fostering a friendship with my students, and providing constant encouragement and support in their areas of interest. I pride myself on being an attentive listener and carefully adapt to the specific needs of my students, which is particularly helpful for my SEN and ESOL pupils. I have previously volunteered as a mentor with charities such as Al Muntaha Tutoring and Debate Mate, providing mentorship, relevant advice, and support to young people. At the beginning of every lesson I also do short icebreaker activities and challenges with my students, using a points reward system to keep them engaged. Previous students have gone on to become the top of their class and receive recognition at school for both English and Maths.
Lessons start at 1 hour in length, with longer lessons available if required. Lessons are structured according to the needs of the student; this can be working alongside their class syllabus to support them with progress at school, tackling an area or subject they are specifically struggling with, or helping them prepare for national exams such as GCSEs.
I provide feedback after every lesson and detailed progress reports every six months for each student.
I primarily offer online lessons as I have found this works well for me and my students, but in some cases I do teach face-to-face depending on location and availability within London.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have - I look forward to speaking with you soon!

English: Communication, Vocabulary, creative writingIn my typical communication and writing class, I focus on engaging students through a hands-on, interactive approach. I believe in fostering an environment where students feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and ideas. My classes often begin with a brief introduction to the day’s topic, whether it’s vocabulary building, sentence structure, or crafting compelling narratives. I encourage participation by incorporating group discussions, writing exercises, and real-life examples to make the content relatable.
During the lessons, I emphasize clarity, coherence, and creativity in writing. I guide students on how to effectively organize their thoughts and use precise vocabulary to convey their messages. We analyze various writing styles, dissecting passages to understand tone, style, and purpose.
Feedback is a crucial part of the process, so I regularly provide constructive criticism, helping students identify areas for improvement while celebrating their strengths. I also prioritize practical application, encouraging students to write short pieces during class, which we review together. This allows them to immediately apply what they’ve learned and improve through practice.
By the end of the class, my goal is for students to leave feeling more confident in their communication skills and inspired to continue refining their writing abilities.
