Cello lessons from 4 to 88 years old, for all levels

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
Graduated from the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève and professor at the Neuchâtel Music Conservatory, I give lessons for all ages and levels. I have twelve years of experience and I love my job!

My priority is to establish a relationship of trust with my students, and to teach them to generate a beautiful sound thanks to an adequate and comfortable posture. Very quickly notions of music theory and expression of emotions arrived. I accompany all my students on the piano by seeking that they have both clear information and pleasure in their learning. Each year, I organize several opportunities to play in public.

Cello lessons for people of all ages, at all levels
My goal is to discover the beauty of the cello, for anyone of any age, and at any level! I am already looking forward to meeting you and I hope we can share together in music! Renting a cello can be seen as a complex task, but finding a cello to rent is actually very simple! I can also help with research. I started playing the cello at 5 and a half years old. I obtained my certificate at the Conservatory of Music of Geneva in 2019 and my Bachelor of Arts at the Haute École de Musique in 2022. I obtained my Master of Pedagogy in June 2024.

Oriane
Modern cello and baroque cello lessons
Cellist, graduate of musical pedagogy and student at the HEM, I offer my services as a private teacher or repeater. Whether you are beginner or advanced, child or big child, the goal is the same: to help you develop your pleasure to play, and to exchange, through a wide range of musical styles. Beginners: "Instrument says the human voice, the cello has 1000 and 1000 colors.A regular investment in the work will allow you to access its sound world, open door to multiple musical languages, and vehicle of your sensitivity. Come try! " At the start, we will set the course framework and define a line of work: we talk about your tastes, goals, motivation, musical background and investment time in the week. " Advanced: "I propose an accompaniment in the technical work and the discovery of the repertoire." Are regularly used in class: fantasy, singing, improvisation and body rhythm exercises, duet play. Classes are given in Geneva or in neighboring France, at your home or mine (Champel district). I look forward to meeting you, Oriane

I am able to cater my teaching to all ages and abilities, and if you have a particular genre you would like to learn, please feel free to drop me a message and I'm sure I will be able to narrow our focus! The genres I play the most are classical, jazz and pop but I encounter a broad range of music in my playing and teaching. Available online or in person

Juliette
Cello lessons for all ages and levels
Develop your physical and cognitive abilities, strengthen your memory, your concentration or even consolidate your self-confidence... The benefits of learning an instrument are numerous. Cellist in Master's degree at the Haute École de Musique de Genève, in pedagogy course, and holder of a Diploma of Musical Studies in musical training, I invite you to share my experience and my enthusiasm during private lessons or in small groups. My experiences as a teacher in music schools, in private lessons and within the Démos project coordinated by the Philharmonie de Paris, have allowed me to develop a pedagogy adapted to the needs and demands of students: installation of the bases of instrument, solidification of technique, discovery of the repertoire, stress management, keys to improvisation...The objective of the course is to develop one's freedom and autonomy on the instrument to have fun and share one's music! Music theory, music history or music theory can accompany the lessons if necessary. Whether you are just discovering the instrument or an already experienced cellist, we build the course together, according to your expectations. Also, whatever the age, whatever the route, with a little will, everyone can achieve it! Hope to meet you, Juliette

My passion for your enjoyment and improvement is genuine! I'm a highly trained, long-time professional with hundreds of private students over the years and scores of appearances as an invited teacher. I'm featured in solo performances on YouTube and other platforms. My master's degree in cello is from a top US music conservatory, and I was for decades exclusively in the role of Principal Cellist with outstanding, well-known orchestras that made dozens of recordings and international tours.

Alexander
Cello lessons
Graduate teacher and concertist (from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Kiev and Master Degree of the F. Liszt Academy of Budapest), I propose to share with you my international experience as well as my passion and enthusiasm for music and music culture in general. After many years spent in symphony and chamber orchestras, I decided to devote a part of my time to teaching and has been teaching for several years in conservatories, schools of music and in the private sector. Relaxed and demanding at the same time, I will help you express the best of yourself. Course description: Modular courses according to the expectations and level of each student (fun and uninhibited approach or very demanding training in the greatest tradition of Russian and international education). For novices / beginners: it is imperative to start on a good basis, by acquiring from the start the reflexes to quickly produce a beautiful sound and have fun to master this beautiful instrument. Classes can be combined with learning music theory. For intermediate to advanced levels as well as for conservatoire students: I can bring you a methodology and advice on technical and musical plans, help you expand your repertoire, prepare you for concerts or auditions. These courses can be given in parallel to the teaching of a senior teacher. Location: I'm traveling in Geneva and its surroundings. The courses may, therefore, be held at your home or any other place of your choice or at my home in Versoix. The first lesson / meeting is an opportunity to establish a contact, to talk about your goals and expectations, to explain my work method as well as to discuss a lesson plan. This will allow you to make an informed decision later on. The schedules are flexible according to the expectations and the possibilities of the pupil. Age : All ages: child (from 5 years old), teenager, adult and senior. Languages: French, English, Russian, Ukrainian. Further information : Need for the student to own a cello except for the first lesson where an instrument can be made available. Alexander

Andrea
Classical and modern cello classes in Barcelona
Hello! I have been teaching classes continuously for more than 10 years and I would like to explain what you can find in a class with me! - To begin with, the most important thing is to know what you want to achieve. I would like to focus the classes according to what you need. For example, we will not put the same level of demand if you want to play for pleasure at home without haste or if you want to do some entrance exams to musical studies (although always with the same good rigor). The needs of each student can vary the methodology, the way of organizing the study sessions, the postural work, the repertoire... - Once we know what we want to achieve and by when, classes will begin in a relaxed atmosphere. Important! Relaxed is not equal to undemanding or rigorous, just that we will try not to resort to military methods, especially given my character and sense of humor ;). - Something important to note is that my methods are very dynamic and with special emphasis on the development of the ear and musicality. No reading, spitting and changing songs. I try to avoid methods that focus too much on the continuous reading of scores without memorizing, listening or understanding what is being done and why, especially so that later you can make your own aesthetic decisions and feel ownership of your performance. Alert! Maybe I'll even make you sing. - Last but not least, it should be noted that given my training (I studied classical music and modern music and jazz at the Taller de Músics) my tendency will be to give the same importance to different types of music. We will adapt to your tastes and needs, but for me we can go from baroque to blues, from blues to Haydn's sonatas, from Haydn to bebop and from bebop to Michael Jackson. Why not? If you like what you have read, do not hesitate to contact me. Learning to play the cello is a pleasure and I would love to share it with you!

I completed my bachelor’s degree at the Poznańs Music Academy in Poland, and this year I will finish my master’s degree in Bolzano, Italy. In addition, I completed a three-year pedagogical course in Poland, so I am confident in my abilities to be a good teacher for both adults and children. On my lessons, we can work together to develop a pathway for achieving your professional goals or also learn playing for your personal pleasure.

Sergio
Higher Graduate (with masters) in Cello and Conducting teaches music at all levels
My teaching method is scrupulously adapted to each student I have, regardless of the subject to work on (musical language, cello, music history, analysis, conducting, etc.) I always apply the Belgian teaching model, where I trained with my master's degrees in Conducting (Antwerp) and Historical Cello (Brussels). According to this model, the main thing is a living and practical teaching, taking understanding and not memory as the main learning engine.

Playing the cello makes you beautiful both inside and outside!
Hello, my name is Anna, and I’ve been playing the cello for 22 years. I have a masters degree both in performative arts and teaching cello from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary. I have acquired a wide range of tools to inspire my pupils individually in their step-by-step development. I teach learners of all ages and levels, my students are 5-60 years old, from beginner to advanced. When I was 15, my cello teacher asked me to teach her younger pupils. I was enthusiastic of teaching, and I still have the same enthusiasm, but much more knowledge and experience. Playing the cello makes you beautiful both inside and outside! While playing the cello, I pay attention to the music, my technique, my body and my emotions. I focus on the same aspects while teaching, so we will improve your musical and technical abilities, as well as your awareness of your own body and emotions. These can (and should) be improved regardless of age and level so if you're interested, sign up for my cello lessons!

By taking online music classes in cello, piano, music theory, and composition, students can develop a well-rounded musical foundation. Cello and piano lessons enhance instrumental technique, musical expression, and performance skills. Music theory classes provide an understanding of harmony, rhythm, and melody, essential for analyzing and interpreting music.
