Guitar is a very versatile instrument, used in many different genres, including classical music. For me, my journey with it started somewhere in my early childhood, primarily with listening to my mum's playing of folk songs. What amazed me is the power that music has to make people come together and communicate. So at 10, I formally started my individual relationship with the instrument, studying classical guitar, which has given me some of the greatest pleasures in this life, and I hope it will be my source of joy until my dying day. Currently, I am studying Makam music at the Global Music Department of Codarts, Rotterdam. Be it classical, Rebetiko, or any other genre, it is this warmth that I would like to convey to my students, and introduce them to a lifelong friend and companion, who is going to take them to the most interesting places.

I came to the Netherlands in 1999 to study baroque oboe and got my Master of Music degree in 2005. Since 1997 I have given private lessons (both for oboe and recorder) and am an oboe teacher with the Leer Orkest Amsterdam. I have a lot of experience with children and adult students. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth.
