SAT Exam (for US / Europe university applications)

I am a UCL Biological Sciences student seeking to offer a highly personalised tutoring experience that caters to my students' needs. I currently teach from Year 7 upwards with a speciality in exam preparation. I teach Geography, RS, Physics, and English from Years 7-11, and Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry from Years 7-13. I aim to understand my tutees' unique concerns and explain concepts simply with many alternative approaches. As someone who has experienced obstacles to my own learning, I have a lot of empathy for students struggling with their learning, particularly those with learning differences and endeavour to develop an approach that works for them. I was a strong student in secondary school (Queen’s College, London) achieving A*s and As (and equivalents) at GCSE and three As at A-Level in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Particularly of note, I received a 9 in GCSE Mathematics, 98% in GCSE Religious Studies, and was awarded a sixth-form academic scholarship. I am an experienced tutor - I participated in a tutoring scheme in secondary school which allowed students from Year 7 to Year 12 to ask any questions they might be struggling with in any subject they wished. This allowed me to continue to engage with my GCSE content during my A-Level years and taught me how to listen to and understand the particular needs of each student at a given moment. I also tutored family and friends of family, allowing me to engage personally with my students and develop a specialised teaching approach. I offer one hour and two hour sessions and am free on weekends, after 5pm, and whenever my university timetable permits. I am generally free at all times outside of university term time.

I can cover a range of math levels from high school through to undergraduate. Extensive experience in algebra, trigonometry, calculus and various other topics. I have earned a Mathematics degree from the University of Otago and completed various professional designations which require a high-level of numerical proficiency. I have four years experience tutoring undergraduate mathematics at university giving both private lessons and conducting group workshops. I also have experience tutoring at high school level.

This is a class for IB English HL - language and literature - covering paper 1 consisting of literary analysis. This class will include analysing different text types, their characteristics and authorial intent, along with the poems of Carol Ann Duffy (or the ones chosen by the school) and a required text of A streetcar named desire (or the text chosen by the school). If needed, I will also aid in the framing and preparation for the IO.

I specialise in GCSE Maths and Science. Please provide me with your exam board for the subject you would like me to help you with. I will then create a personalised lesson plan for each student according to their strengths and weaknesses. I will be testing students regularly and assigning homework.

I specialise in tutoring maths up to A-Level. My method of teaching is tailored to each individual, focused on ensuring the student fully understands each topic and challenging students once they’re ready. I assign homework after every lesson, which will be 3 questions covering each level: easy, medium and hard, to track their progress. I can also teach the maths involved in physics and chemistry, if students are struggling with this. This can be taught alongside their regular maths, or be exclusively taught.

German is a complex language with difficult grammar and pronunciation. Because it’s my first language, I am confident that I can help the students to improve their grades as best as possible. I test vocabularies regularly and try to make the grammar understandable on the basis of exercises. Social studies as well as science of education persist both of many theories and philosophy. Sometimes it is hard to understand these theories or to memorise them for an upcoming test. I want to make the theories more practical to the student by using examples to explain them. I’d test them regularly by asking for the most relevant facts. Moreover math is also quite difficult for some students to understand. I already gave math tutor classes for students and it’s very helpful to just make as many exercises and examples as possible and in doing so explaining problems and raising questions. Test preparation is a special field of education which isn’t really taught in school, although it’s very important for the students to know. It is all about motivation and finding the best method how to learn. Besides, time management and organisation as well as still having time for leisure activities is crucial. I figure this out together with the students preferences and personalities to get the most out of the test prep time.
