Graduated in singing, pop singing and computer music at the IMEP (Royal Higher Institute of Music and Education), I teach beginners, amateurs, as well as children, especially in a non-profit organization in the Namur region. With beginner saxophone students, we will first work on proper instrument holding and posture. Then, before blowing into the saxophone, we will practice long-tone exercises using the mouthpiece. Once comfortable with these fundamentals, we will start producing sound from the instrument and learning the notes. We will focus on long-tone exercises to develop control and consistency. We gradually start incorporating short exercises or simple melodies as the student progresses. Learning and progressing on an instrument mostly depends on the student's dedication and practice habits. If you love music and commit time to it, you can reach a good level in a short period!
