Electric bass lessons - Pedagogy adapted to all levels
Translated by Google. Click to view original.
A seasoned and passionate musician since the age of 15, I gave my first lessons more than 10 years ago. I am an excellent pedagogue, and I adapt to the level of the student, whether in terms of technical mastery of the instrument, ability to read notes (or tablature), as well as understanding music theory and of the theory. I put myself at the service of the student, his level and his tastes and musical projects. I have a thorough knowledge of music theory, particularly in jazz, and a long experience of playing together (jazz, rock and progressive metal). I can thus provide the theoretical elements necessary for the student to fully appropriate his instrument, at his own pace, and be able to play in a group, invent bass lines, improvise and compose pieces. The bass is the most important instrument in a musical ensemble, whether in jazz, rock, blues, funk, metal or pop. She is the benchmark for all other musicians, she defines both rhythm and harmony, and she literally makes the bodies of the listeners vibrate.

As someone with very little theoretical background, I find that Jean does his best to explain things in a simple and clear matter. He is patient and calm, will adapt the lessons to your level and needs, accompany the lessons with exercises and material that you can use to practice at home, .. Overall a very good experience so far.
I started taking bass lessons from Jean two weeks ago and I find that he is an excellent teacher, attentive, patient and above all explains well the concepts of music theory applied to the bass. Highly recommended for those who want to start playing or simply, like me, expand their knowledge and skills.

Victor
Student at the Brussels Conservatory gives guitar and bass guitar lessonsHello, my name is Victor, I am 24 years old and I am currently a student at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. I play in different musical projects with artists such as Youssef Swatt's, Lena Deluxe, Bim Boom Bap... My teaching focuses on spontaneous and mainly oral learning of music. There is no need to know music theory. I will discuss some theoretical notions depending on what we are working on together, and your curiosity on this subject. I would emphasize listening, rhythm and playing in pairs. There will be part of the work devoted to instrumental technique (how to get a beautiful sound out of the instrument, how to play without getting tired or injured, what are the different ways of making a guitar/bass guitar sound depending on the style) , and the rest of the time we can work on pieces, tackle improvisation, group playing, composition, or other subjects depending on your requests.
I offer a free lesson to see where you are, and so that we can discuss your desires and what I can offer you. Please feel free to message me with any requests.
My musical journey:
I am currently a student at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in jazz and before that I spent 2 years at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Lille in jazz bass/double bass and classical double bass. I also graduated from EF2M in Tourcoing.
I started music at the age of 8 with the piano, then I turned to the guitar at 12 and then to the electric bass at 16. When I entered the Lille Conservatory, I also took up the double bass.
I practiced several styles: jazz, rock, blues, metal, classical, soul, funk, etc... and the fact of having played several instruments helps me to have a more global vision of music, and to find what is interesting in each of the styles. This openness I want to pass on in my classes.
I have several years of stage experience with different projects, and I have also worked in the studio, notably with the house music artist Bellaire.

Harp and Music Lessons for adults and children / Cours de Harpe et Musique pour adultes et enfants— ENGLISH —
Have you ever dreamed of creating enchanting and magical melodies? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to master the art of the harp and immerse yourself in the wonderful world of music?
Perhaps you are a curious beginner looking to explore the magic of the harp, or maybe you are an experienced musician eager to enhance your musical skills? Regardless of your level, my harp and music lessons are designed for you.
I am a passionate teacher with over 10 years of experience in teaching the harp, music theory, and music education at various levels, from children to adults.
I love creating a positive learning atmosphere, allowing the student to feel comfortable and motivated, whether they are a beginner or an advanced musician. Each student will have their own customized study method to progress at their own pace, and I listen carefully to every request to nurture their natural attitude for learning. I pay special attention to the student's preferences in terms of repertoire and goals, even arranging some musical scores that may not have been initially intended for the harp.
These lessons are suitable for both amateurs and professional musicians, whether they are young or adults. You don't need to know how to read music (music notation and solfège) or have played an instrument before to learn how to play the harp. My method is organized so that theory is learned through practice. You will quickly discover that the harp, contrary to what one might think, is a very easy instrument to play!
How about playing a wide range of musical styles, from classical to Celtic music, and even contemporary compositions? What kind of music inspires you the most?
I look forward to meeting you,
Eleonora

Eleonora

Jazz Double Bass / Improvised Music and Electric Bass lessonsThe Contrabass is a marvelous instrument: powerful, subtle, demanding, astonishing.
Graduated from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris in Jazz specialty and teacher (private individual / replacement in conservatory) for 4 years, I suggest you dive into the heart of his universe.
For this I appreciate relying on a flexible method putting the passion and envy of my students at the forefront.
Meet, establish a dialogue and move forward together towards a common goal: to have fun while making progress!
My horizons:
-The jazz double bass (walking bass, improvisation, sounds, repertoire, rhythm, theory ..)
- the "general" technique (body position, right hand, left hand, flexibility, etc.)
-the classical double bass (sound of the bow, phrasing, study of pieces ...)
- "contrabassistic" culture (operation of the instrument, the undisputed masters, the repertoire in the broad sense ...)
I am also an electric bass player (another wonderful instrument) graduated from the Marne and Chantereine conservatories.
My method remains the same and I love to teach (and constantly learn) the greatest number of styles, repertoire, ranging from Rock to Funk through Pop, hip hop and Cuban music.
All levels and all ages welcome!
Classes can be taught in French, English or Italian.
Robin.
Rodrigo Fuentealba
Guitars Guitars from beginners to advanced, with style !Hi there,
My name is Rodrigo Fuentealba, I’m a professional guitarist - Fuzztones, Arsenal, Novastar, Gabriel Ríos, Fifty Foot Combo, Manngold - I play in little dark venues as well as Werchter and Forest National in bands whose genre ranges from Rock'n Roll, blues, surf, punkrock, postpunk, jazz, latin, garage, pop, soul, folk, country, psychedelica, impro, solos and anything in between and beyond, anything as long as it’s good and fun ! And ... I can’t read music (I can pretend very well) and I’ve only been taking an interest in music theory in the last ten years.
I have a solid experience as a guitar teacher as i’ve worked for 10 years at the PXL Music Conservatory, which produces most of the professional bands coming out of Belgium, as well as at the Merelbeke Music Academy. I also produce music, write music scores for theater, movies, adverts and contemporary dance.
I got into music because it is fun to play an instrument, it makes you feel good, it’s creative, inspiring, and it connects you to other people. And that is my main goal in teaching you how to play the guitar. At your own pace, learning the stuff that you like and want to learn. The basic basics, songs, styles, soloing, impro, and the more advanced things, whatever it is that you fancy and would like to learn. In a beautiful environment. And with a nice cup of tea. In English, Dutch, French or Spanish, in the daytime or evening.

Music through the piano for all ages and all levelsThe piano is an excellent instrument for learning music in its various aspects: emotional, physical and mental.
I propose in my course different pieces depending on the level and aspirations of the student to allow him to express himself best through the learning of technique (relationship to the body), the theatrical aspect of music as well as the theoretical aspect.
The aim of the course is to transform the pupil into a musician who is aware of the fulfillment of his humanity.

Piano lessons - music theory and harmony - for any levelI teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age.
I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.
