Trusted teacher: Are you interested in learning the fundamentals of contemporary dance while also gaining a deeper insight into your own personal movement style, working on the mobility and flexibility of the body and learning to express yourself in your own unique way? I offer classes in three different areas: (there is of course the possibility of tailoring the lesson combining elements of all three classes, depending on the needs and wishes of the student) 1. Contemporary dance Lesson description: We will learn the basic skills of contemporary dance (release technique) and floorwork, improve mobility and learn choreographic sequences and soft acrobatics. The classes are structured around a dynamic warm-up and strengthening, mobilization of the muscles and activation of the core, the spine and the limbs. Engaging in floorwork exercises, the focus is on gaining control of our weight, on moving with flow and continuity without excessive muscular force and on saving energy and avoiding injuries. We will learn basic skills and soft acrobatics (shoulder rolls, spiral rolls, floor spins, knee slides, handstands). During the end of the lesson, we create a choreography sequence and cool- down with relaxation and stretching exercises. My aim as a dance teacher will be to help you achieve your goals, and customize the classes according to your dance level, and preferences whilst helping you learn and polish your fundamentals in musicality, rhythm, balance, technique and performance in dance. Of course, most importantly, for all of you have to fun! Bollywood dance is an expressive and fun style of dance that originated in India and is usually performed in Hindi films. It is popular worldwide, including a mix of the vibrant circle Garba dance, energetic and dynamic Bhangra dance as well as more traditional elegant and beautiful Bharatnatyam and Kathak forms of dances. Commercial dance is a universal style of dance, performed in music videos, for concerts, musicals or films. It includes a mixture of various styles: jazz, hip-hop, locking, popping, street dance, jazz, contemporary and more. Salsa and Bachata are both Latin style dances that are usually performed with a partner but also can be performed solo with solo moves called, "Shines." Salsa features flashy and energetic moves with lots of spins whilst Bachata (at least the sensual style) features more sensual, sexy moves with body isolation and head rolls. I will teach you how to distinguish both kinds of music by ear, the right technique, balance, body control and isolation, and of course performance. Nidhi helped my daughter (8 years) in the mornings so she could have a fitness routine. She was very patient as it was really difficult to wake my daughter up in the mornings. She was always encouraging her and with a smile in her face. She also talked to her like friends and my daughter felt really confortable connecting with her. Unfortunately, with all the activities with her and my other kids (school extra curricular programs, sickness, etc) and the great time difference between hour countries, we couldn’t find a good time to keep connecting. Mornings were just hard since she is still little and needs to have plenty of sleep and putting her on bed early was not an option with the other kids activities at evenings. We enjoyed the time they connected. My daughter said, Nidhi is really nice.
