Trusted teacher: Hello! My name is Aurel and I am a French Amsterdam-based drummer. Although currently specialized in Jazz music, I have studied various esthetics, and Pop and Rock music, in particular, are part of my background (I played in several pop-rock bands). Therefore I am able to teach a broad panel of music styles. I also have many drum methods and charts at my disposal, and have experience in teaching children from the age of 6, as well as teenagers and adults. Lessons and teaching method: I always adapt to the student's tastes and learning profiles. This is why, during the first lesson, and on a regular basis afterwards, I always take time to discuss with my students (or their parents if they are very young) to figure out together the path they want or need to follow. I will use charts and methods for those who need visual support to assimilate the skills or teach by ear and by demonstrating to the ones who feel more comfortable this way. I also play electric guitar and can jam with my students, which is a great tool for developing band playing skills or simply to have a good time. For those eager to make significant progress, I offer consistent and serious monitoring, with practice recommendations. I can for instance prepare a student for an audition or an entrance exam in a conservatory. If you are willing to improve your understanding of rhythm in general, you can also benefit from my knowledge of Indian Karnatic rhythm concepts, one of the most complete traditional approaches to rhythm. About me: In addition to my jazz drums bachelor and master degrees from the conservatory of Amsterdam (CvA), which included a thorough pedagogical training and a specialization in Indian Karnatic techniques, I benefit from 4 years of experience as an employed drum teacher in two French associative music schools (Ecole de musique de Nangis and Conservatoire des Deux Rives, Moret-sur-Loing). I am also an active musician, both on the Dutch and the French scene. My trio mainly tours in France and has played at venues such as the Sunside (Paris), or participated in competitions like the Keep An Eye International Jazz Award. I am also the co-leader of the sextet Chai Masters, finalist of several European competitions (Leiden Jazz Award, Golden Jazz Trophy in Lille, France, 7 Virtual Jazz Contest). Recently, the band was part of Keep An Eye The Records's finalists (March 2022). Its first album "Magic Realism" received critical acclaim in France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. As a cellist I've had the pleasure and honour of collaborating with renowned artists such as Hans Zimmer, being part of his 2022 European Tour Orchestra, touring over 15 countries and playing in locations such as London's O2 Arena or Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. Singing Lessons (Individual) - Pop, Jazz, Soul, Blues, Rock (Amsterdam)

Not just a singing teacher, but by the way also the best vocal coach you can get hold of at this moment and in this area of the Netherlands (so take your chance...;-)). For about 3 years I had a serious problem with my vocal chords (incomplete closure) and a dislocated larynx. I started to be in contact with Stefano by chance asking him to show me some (singing) exercises additionally to my treatment at the ENT-department of Martini Ziekenhuis Groningen as well as an ongoing therapy at a professional trained speech therapist. To cut a long story short: Within a couple of lessons and dedicated exercises he succeeded in re-positioning my larynx and got rid of my incomplete vocal cords closure, meanwhile the medical specialists had decided that the only cure could possibly be an operation... As a ‘side-effect’ I am now able to sing and control my voice like I have never been able before and could never have imagined that this was possible to achieve by just some simple but individually chosen exercises and practice. I had a great first lesson with Mariela. What I found most important: - Mariela ensures you're comfortable. Her kindness and calm confidence work wonders for a self-conscious and nervous person like me. - Explanations! Everything is clearly explained, so you always know why you're doing something and how to do it correctly. - I loved the flexible approach: if you know exactly what you want, she'll help you achieve it, but if you're completely lost, she's ready to guide you, offer different options, and give you advice. No pressure, but lots of support. - I feel like Mariela has many different teaching strategies for various personalities and goals, which is awesome. Plus, she has a lot of cool vocal tricks up her sleeve! - It's obvious that Mariela loves both music and teaching, which is so inspiring. Overall, I had a very fun and productive experience and will definitely continue studying with Mariela!

Pablo is a great teacher! I began taking drum lessons again after a 8 year break from playing and Pablo has really helped me to get back my passion for drums while cleaning out some old bad habits. He has structured lessons which he tailors to my individual flaws and desires which is really appreciated. He's a down to earth guy, really easy to communicate (Fantastic English) with and organise lessons, even with last minute changes driven by my calendar. I really like his overall approach to drums, the tips and tricks I'm picking up from him are things you won't necessarily pick up by practising alone or reading a book/youtube etc. He focuses on reading music, different playing techniques and playing things which give you enjoyment. For someone who already plays drums and is looking to improve and have fun a long the way, I really couldn't recommend Pablo more!
